I can never keep up with this season's trend. Brown is the new black, mauve is the new pink. Does my head in.

SWP's post has been doing my head in for half a minute now.
Fat thumb typing on iPhone is not great with autocorrect.

'Brown back' I was going for 'Brown back'
Really! I would never have guessed

In 2007/08, Mr Balls claimed £155,556 in parliamentary allowances and expenses. Miss Cooper claimed £152,659.
Both claims were higher than the average of £144,176.
Together, the couple claimed £24,438 under the Additional Costs Allowance to fund a second home.
They use the money for a house in London which they register as their second home.

They list a house on Mr Balls' Yorkshire seat of Normanton as their primary residence, even though their children attend schools in London.

Between them, the couple also claimed more than £4,000 for transporting for their children.

Miss Cooper claimed £2095 for 56 journeys between London and her Pontefract seat. Mr Balls claimed £2010 for 47 journeys.

For their work in Government and in parliament, each of the couple is also paid a salary of £141,866.

Having worked in London for 10 years i'd say since he become Mayor the transport system has improved loads, getting rid of the bendy buses straight away, the bikes have been a success, central London is not congested like it once was, he is working on improving the Tube system and the Crossrail project will be a huge success.

The London Olympics was also a huge success and Boris played a major role, he negotiated with the Goverment £15 million to provide funding for jobs and training before and after the Games. The money will go into three different projects over the next three years - the ‘Host Boroughs’, ‘Construction Employer Accord’ and the ‘2012 Employment Legacy’ - helping unemployed Londoners get into work and start earning again.

Since hes been in power, the crime rate in London has dramatically decreased down by 8.2% since 2008, youth crime is down 15% and robberies 21%, you also see more police patrolling the streets - London is safer thanks to him.

There is loads more achievements he has done since being mayor - But if you would rather ignore them and just call him a 'bumbling baffoon playing an act' or Bluemoon style 'hes a c*nt' then so be it.

Ed Balls appears like Cameron to be the blue print of the modern politician PPE at Oxbridge, Publicly educated, former special advisor, Career Politician with claims to be central in political ideolgy in the hope that they cast a wide enough net to cover almost everybody and anybody in the hope they vote for them.

There are Toffs in every party but generally the Tory Toffs are worse than Labour.

Surely it's more important that people of the highest quality lead the country. Previous generations may have been better led by men with a glittering military careers, now, however, the demands of the country, and world, require different skills. The financial background and social status of any politician should matter not a jot, regardless of their political hue, and we would be better served examining the strengths and weaknesses of individuals rather than seeing a 'type'. Whether the country would be better under Cameron, Johnson, or any other is open to scrutiny and debate.

Bully for London, this is the same guy who said in a Tory conference in Manchester that the only way for Manchester to move forward is to keep investing in London. I just can't wait for him to become prime minister. The north will receive even less investment. The problem with this country is that London is already Washington, New York and L.A rolled into one.

What a fucking horrible individual..As bad as kelvin Mckenzie.

Mr Johnson caused uproar eight years ago after stating the reaction to Ken Bigley’s murder in Iraq had given rise to “mawkish sentimentality” in Liverpool.

The editorial in the Spectator magazine, edited by Mr Johnson, read: "[Liverpudlians] see themselves whenever possible as victims, and resent their victim status; yet at the same time they wallow in it."

Making explicit reference to the Hillsborough tragedy, it said the city of Liverpool failed to acknowledge "the part played in the disaster by drunken fans at the back of the crowd who mindlessly tried to fight their way into the ground."

The piece added: "The police became a convenient scapegoat, and the Sun newspaper a whipping-boy for daring, albeit in a tasteless fashion, to hint at the wider causes of the incident."

Later in 2004, Mr Johnson paid a visit to Liverpool in an attempt to build bridges and say sorry for the remarks.

Views he seems to share with 90% of this forum, at least he's got his finger on the pulse.
