Brahim Diaz - 2018/19 Performances

Funny how a few pages back I mention the possible scenario of Diaz taking his chance and scoring 2 goals and he does just that!!

Deflection on the first but took his second very well. Still feel Foden outshined him. Despite the goals I thought it was a mixed performance, some flashes of brilliance and then some amateur mistakes.

I would have him on the bench this weekend and try to get him on as a sign of confidence.

8/10. Not perfect, but linked up very well with Danilo and Kev and bagged two goals. Been 5 weeks without any games at either EDS or first team level, so not surprising that he lacks a little match fitness. Badly hope Pep gives him more playing time and convinces him to stay

It seems he perform better on the left.

But anyway, glad he scored 2 goals & hopefully he will make the bench somehow for the next game.

Couldn't really have done much more against a full strength premier league side. It'll probably take a bit more than 4 or 5 league cup games to convince him to stay, so hopefully tonight might lead to some league minutes.

Again, given that he’s really a 10, he must be delighted with how tonight went. Would like to see Pep rotate him and Foden on the bench for the next run of league games so they can both get some minutes.

Think one of his problems long term is that City don’t really play with a 10 although there is more tactical variation this year so you never know. As it stands, he’s someone who can do a job on the wing due to his quick feet and dribbling skills but not where he’s most effective. For my own curiosity would love to see him play in a diamond with Foden, DeBruyne and Delph in the quarter final.

I think your 10 assertion is definitely the issue, his best position by far but not really a conventional role in this team... if he’s smart he signs the extension as pep is the perfect coach to develop his abilities, sadly though I think this is already done!!

You heard anything on that?
