Brandon Barker for Navas?

If we are leading 5-0 then yes bring on the youth players. But I doubt it will be that scoreline on Saturday.

right how often are we actually 5 nil up with any decent time left for a kid to come on and impress

there's nothing wrong with starting with one and seeing how it goes in a cup game

Seriously ? So no youth players against championship teams now. It's just another excuse why is everyone so scared about playing a bright young player for even twenty minutes agaisnt boro - a championship team.I've heard he can't play league games as we might lose because of it, he can't play cup games as we could also lose. I'm guessing same for champions league ? We could lose with or without him.

When are they gonna play then ? We may aswell scrap the academy now. If barkely was in the city youth team now, posters on here wouldn't want him to play.
I agree. There seems to be an awful lot of fear on this thread. If we don't play a super talented kid in a cup game, then when will we ever play them? We are playing a Boro team who wouldn't have one player that would get anywhere near our squad. If we play a Barker/Ambrose/Pozo or Celina it won't be their fault if our other 10 top class players can't beat Boro.

Nobody is saying don't play them but why risk a result by playing a kid who might not be ready, bring them on buy all means if it's going our way. We played the super talented Pozo who looked out of his depth

that was one game though, we have to be patient with him and others. If people are expecting world class talent straight away from 18 year olds then they'll never play.

My point being he is a great talent but not ready for 1st team and I suspect Barker will be exactly the same

Not when we are trying to win the FA Cup. We gave Lopes a start when there wasn't a cat in hells chance of West Ham getting back in the Capital one Cup tie. He struggled when we played Watford in the following game.

Hart
Zaba,Kompany,MDM,Clichy
Fernando,Fernandinho
Barker,Milner,Silva
Aguero

Thats fair enough mate, but i dont see how playing this team for example is a risk.

Thing is bet Boyata plays now I think thats more of a risk than playing Barker

Think we would see milner right silva in the centre and barker left, as I've already said though with kalas I just think Jose will put in a call and tell him to kick silva and Aguero.

Short memory. Sunderland away.

Risk of playing Barker or any youngster that isn't ready is denting the confidence of that player. That's why we have to leave these kind of decisions to the people who know on a daily bases.

Absolutely.
