Bring the Noise

We don’t have to copy anfield like every other team building their new ground. End of the day fans make the atmosphere a lot needs to be done before building that massive fuck off kop, can’t ever seem to get one full bock of singers without it being diluted with tourists and miserable dickheads that only sing on the derby, 100% agree with moving the away fans. Also u cannot compare any English atmosphere to European ultras

Liverpool didn’t invent having a single tier stand and plenty of grounds throughout English history had a kop. It would be much better having all of our singing fans in one area.

I also didn’t really compare us to European ultras. I only mentioned Dortmund and that was only from a stand point of view.

Look we both want the same thing and hopefully it changes , as something has to. Happy new year mate !

Why is everyone pre-occupied with whether we sing songs or not ? If a more bothered with getting involved, shouting encouragement, slagging the ref or simply shouting Come on City the atmosphere would improve hugely. Too many sit there as though they are watching a reality TV show.

(and don't start me on about those on their phones)
This is the big thing for me. Vocal involvement in the game across the ground sets the tone for atmosphere.

Look at Palace; when you actually go to Selhurst you realise that 90% of their ground sit in total silence, worse than our gaff, and their little group of band geeks sing all game but when you’re there it’s not an impressive atmosphere at all and the away fans often out-noise the home fans.

If people got involved with all the “come on”s “go on”s “fuck off”s “ooohh”s “aaaahh”s “yyeesss!!”s “oi linesman you fucking blind ****, sort your fucking shit out man”s... the atmosphere would be sorted.

Against Liverpool last season at the Etihad, we didn’t really sing much at all. But it was the best atmosphere of the season.

I suspect the vast majority of Liverpool fans who have season tickets have remained in those seats all their lives. So they all know each. This builds up a friendship and rapport between themselves, and they are more accepting of each other’s behaviour. Singing, etc.

Compare contrast that to the constant fan upheaval at City. Since the move to the Etihad, as it’s now known, City fans have constantly moved around the stadium for numerous reasons. And new and less vocal City fans have been buying the additional season tickets created by the expansion of the South stand..

City should limit the relocation window to once every 2 or 3 season’s, instead of every season. The constant churning of fans around the stadium isn’t helping fans to get to know each and to create a rapport amongst themselves.

Let's start 2020 in the best way possible and get behind the lads today and hopefully help them on the way to an important 3 points

Hope we turn up today blues! Let’s celebrate the success we’ve had the last decade and two years with things not going so well as the last 2-3.

Lots of ‘stand up if you love city, we love you city we do’ enthusiasm, appreciation NOISE!

Come on city

Hopefully someone will have an eye on Ian Cheeseman today to make sure he celebrates city goals with appropriate fervour.

The crowd are absolutely terrible tonight. No atmosphere whatsoever it’s like a pre season friendly.

Which part of the ground are you in?

Correct.

New Years Day.
Work Tomorrow.
Everton fans just 1 chant.
City aren't playing great again.
VAR strikes again.
Just one of those matches where people just can't be arsed.

Are you there? Sounded quite good until VAR took over then it went very quiet. It's sucking the life out of the game
VAR is helping the atmosphere for me. It creates a toxicity around the game and the biggest chants at Wolves and at our place on Sunday and today were “fuck VAR”

Bang on. I have been on this thread urging people to shout, cheer, slag the ref anything but today, nah, after the second VAR farce I really felt like going to the pub. It is shit and is killing the game.

The other problem is corporate. Above the 1894 lads is a large section of corporate on the middle tier, the fuckers didn't come back for the second half for a good 5-10 minutes, that splits and songs between the first and the third tiers. We have won but I am on a serious downer re football and City. Neither care about the core fans.

I agree. Corporate is becoming a huge problem at our ground. Large corporate areas which are fragmenting the crowd. It’s all about chasing money for the club though

I mentioned in another thread the club are giving rows upon rows of tickets to ticket agencies now. The first 7 or so rows of 107 and 109. Areas that were full of season ticket holders. I’m now pretty much surrounded by people who in most cases couldn’t care less about us or openly cheer/ cameras out when the away team scores.

What’s the point in getting up and singing when everyone around you doesn’t know any words to any chant or song. It’s becoming too corporate

I don’t want to keep coming in here and moaning about the atmosphere every week, but it really is taking away from the match day experience

I thought the atmosphere was a lot better tonight. There was quite a bit of noise around where I was sitting, not enough mind, and could hear the SS as well.
Thanks folks let’s hope this is a good omen for 2020.
Bring on Port Vale now.
