Bring the Noise

think depends were you are this season sat next to the atlanta fans and lots of them sat around us ! didn't hear a City song all night due to the noise they were making. SS on derby day was good and 309 for the Leicester game was good my worse this season was Watford middle of Colin Bell stand last row at the back surrounded by little kids and their parents who gave my lad and me dirty looks when we tried to get the singing going couldnt really do the Wednesday night due to young kids and swearing ! towards the end the kids did join in on the KDB song.

I think sometimes we are to hard on ourselves saw an gooners game could hear a pin drop and watch the second half of the dippers last night and that was very quite unless the dippers were near the wolves goal which wasn't much from what I saw, I was surprised how quite anfield was

I have not got a voice today and that is because I was shouting/singing/screaming (totally alone!!) in my section. At one stage I was told (nicely and with a laugh) to calm down. Mind you that was when I was yelling like mad at Bravo to get back in his area when he was way, way, way passed the half way line as we took a free kick. If they had broken away at that stage, and they were quite capable of it, with a swift overhead long kick there was no way he could have got back!!

But where were the singing section? The Sheffield United lot were very loud yes but we could have drowned them out as they were using some of our tunes with different words!! A loud shout out would have drowned them out surely?

Ah well, back to the whispering gallery. I shall keep on shouting/screaming/singing knowing that I am being laughed at but, as I said to my next door neighbour (seat wise) I promised the lads on BlueMoon I would make a noise tonight so I have to do it. They can laugh at me, ridicule me (not that they do that but they do laugh) whatever, it won't stop me singing either alone or accompanied................................ but please, please, please someone accompany me in CBL1!!! :-)

However, at least Pep acknowledged us singing his song at last, do you think he has been reading posts on here!! :-)

Met a few Sheff United fans in the pub before the game, seemed decent lads to me. One of them said he had a ticket in our end. Told him not to start giving it large and he should he'd be ok. A few more on the train were decent too, all were looking forward to playing us.

After the Wolves game I was really up for this game so after a few beers in town got the tram to the stadium and was buzzing. Tried to get a few songs going in 110 but even the regular guys around me weren't really up for it. Very subdued atmosphere yesterday and very disappointing. If supporters in one of our main two singing sections can't be arsed then we can't really wonder why it was flatter than a witches tit.

I think we have (collectively) become spoilt and expectant, many stood around me with a face like a smacked arse. Ok we got beat at Wolves, so what, move on and get over it!

We often wait for the team to rouse us into singing, never understood this tbh. Maine road was sometimes a subdued atmosphere but most of the time we could be bothered to try and inspiring our donkeys grazing on the pitch, and by christ did we have some donkeys. Some signed straight from the Golden Mile it seemed!; )

Nowadays we're feasting on fabulous footy and I want to go mental, I want you to go mental in making some noise, fuckin' hurry up and bring it!

I enjoyed the game yesterday, even though our atmosphere was shite. Fair play to Sheff United fans, they played their part and amused me with their excellent original and quirky 'greasy chip butty' song. One of my favourite non City songs.
Top quality: )

I don't sing as much these days and don't care. If I wanted guaranteed audience participation, I'd go to a panto! Sometimes I prefer to just watch the game unfold, the team formation or keep my eye on a certain player's performance. I'll join in when I want, but organised chanting ain't for me, some games are good, some not. You don't get points for having the loudest crowd.
The main reason why we go games is too support the team might as well give the ticket to someone who wants to support the team and just watch it on TV instead.

Sit in 114 and for at least the first part of the game I thought the Sheffield United fans we're the loudest at least English fans I've seen this season they did go Quiet though for a while mostly after there Var goal was ruled out but overall pretty decent

We cannot do anything about the atmosphere when our singing section is next to the away fans who have a bigger area and are louder.

It’s like putting a flyweight up against a super middleweight, or an iPhone speaker next to a giant gig sound system.

We have absolutely no chance whatsoever with the singing section where it is.

We’ve never had it right at the Etihad, it was better when the singing section was in the East Stand but still not ideal. It needs fucking moving down the other end of the ground, well away from the away fans!

Yesterday I looked over to the South Stand and it looked like all three blocks of City fans in SSL1 were singing and clapping but I couldn’t hear anything they were singing because the SheffU fans were all singing up in SSL3 which drifted down to SSL1 and it completely drowned out our singing.

The #1 thing that needs to happen is to move away from the away fans. It will change our atmosphere beyond recognition.

Away fans can be singing loudly and NSL1 only has to claim for a corner and you can hear them over the away fans. But the whole of City’s SSL1 can be singing but you can’t hear them next to the away fans!

I knew you guys were singing none stop from the clapping you were doing. The rest of the South Stand might as well be in the Colin Bell stand for what they contribute to the atmosphere.

Sheff Utd were loud until we went 2 nil up.

Fair enough mate - seems I was doing the Sheff Utd fans a bit of a disservice. Sometimes the whole SS does join in but not often enough obviously. Bernardo song early doors did spread right across

It must be deceptive if you're stood right in the middle of it, cos I was front row of 308 and didn't hear a peep from the South Stand til the 2nd half and even then it was barely audible. Whereas the Sheffield United fans were (very) loud and clear from start to finish.

Yeah, it is deceptive for sure. We didn’t hear the Sheff Utd fans that much in 115 despite being right near them. I know fans who have been in CB3 and heard us clearly then the likes of yourself in the 3rd tier of the opposite stand who can’t hear us - probably because you have a noisy away following closer to you than those in CB3.
I just felt while yesterday wasn’t totally bouncing throughout in our section, it was better than it has been for some other games and more songs continued for longer for a change.

This thread is weird. I stand in 115. Bar the odd chant and a bit if banter, I thought the Sheffield United fans were very, very, quiet. Nowhere near the loudest away fans who have been to the Etihad so far this season.

As I'm just past the overhang in 115, I can't hear the away fans in L2 and L3. In comparison my partner and Daughter sit in L2, block 212, and they say the away fans in level 3 above them are always really loud.

It's fair to say the away fans in SSL1 are drowned out by 114, 115, SSL1, 111 and 110. They seem to be overwhelmed by City's vocal support either side of them. In comparison, the SSL2 and SSL3 away sections are where all the away support and noise comes from.

I think the club should move the away fans from SSL2 and L3, and give them blocks 114, 115, 111 and 110. Basically stick them in the L1 corner. Just like Spurs, Arsenal, etc do for the away fans.

116 should be the new singing section, and SL2 and 3 away ends should be given over to City fans.

SheffU were by far the loudest fans who’ve been for a good few years. They sounded like we used to at Blackburn and Bolton.

And away fans shouldn’t be seen on tele. They should be shoved out of site in the part of the stadium where it’s hardest to get an atmosphere going. That would be around 130-134 where they have the ambulance entrance to stop a continuous flow of them. That’s also close to where coaches can park up so they can have their own new coach park.

That would give us the whole of the South Stand and would stop everyone from 105-111 having to walk via Denmark to get to Ashton New Road as we have to walk all the way up to the bridge just to walk all the way down ANR or walk all the way around the stadium just to get to ANR.

I thought Sunderland in Pep’s first league game as manager were the loudest domestic fans I’ve heard over the past few years. Certainly sounded a lot louder than the Blades yesterday and I was in 115 for both games!

Yeah they were very good that day.

Wednesday were incredible one year in the EFL Cup as were United in the first half of that FA Cup game when they went 0-3 up.

Thought SheffU have been very loud on both their visits to the Etihad.

I'll have to disagree with you. Thought they were poor and average at best.(listening from SL115)

Having been to Arsenal and Spurs new ground, and from personal experience, sticking the away fans in L1, in the corner, and pitch side, means they have little impact noise and atmosphere wise. Even United fans who have the best away support in the PL struggle at those 2 grounds. The higher up in the stands away fans are, the better and louder their support is.

Anyone know who that guy was in level 3 in the segregation part ??

Absolute **** didn’t have a hi vis or any jacket with a name on. Just a black jacket with an earpiece.

Pushing people etc absolute wanker
