British and Irish Lions Tour - 2013

need Roberts and Tuilagi in at centre next week, Croft back in and they need to give quick, clean ball to the 9, that's where Youngs is effective, not when he's having to fight all the time because the Aussies are able to spoil.

Youngs was utter dogshit today but that's nothing new, no way Lydiate will be dropped for a show pony player like Croft.
I'd definitely go for Roberts or Tuilagi with Davies though, BOD has been a quite brilliant player but he just hasn't the legs anymore.
Laugh out loud moment thought when North took that Aussie for a run on his shoulder

Lol, the effect of North's run was neutralised when Folau got up and walked away and North was on the floor for 5 minutes after headbutting the ground :-)

yeah and the phase of play that got us in trouble was when North charged out of the line and left the 3 tiny backs to fail to stop Folau charging through.

OK Start of rant: WTF is Gatland thinking of, not only neglecting to give BOD the captaincy for what is probably the Lions most Important game for years but not even giving him a place in the squad, ludicrous!!!!!! He has the skills to captain the side to victory and nobody has more Lions experience, he's good enough, he's been in the same position and he's been playing well, I cant understand gatlands thinking at all.. BOD has been penalised a few times in the previous two tests for (None Existant Offences) at the breakdown as he was clearly on his feet at all times, but aside from that I feel he has done a fantastic defensive job for the Lions and it is not his fault that the Lions have been playing to narrow and not freeing the backs up unlike the Ozzies.. AWJ is a fair choice as a replacement but IMHO there is nobody playing who could captain the Lions better on Saturday!!!!
Im an Englishman btw so there is no Irish biase here, just common sense.
Anyone feel differently?? If so would love to hear your thoughts.

BOD has been a quite amazing player & i have always rated him very highly but he isn't the player he once was. Unfortunately time catches up with all the greats & sadly that's happened to BOD.
One of the best centres i've ever seen but sadly his time has come to an end. We'll miss him and Warburton at the breakdown that's for certain.

-- Wed Jul 03, 2013 8:22 am --

I'm afraid I do not agree with you at all, he was picked for this tour on merit and has performed at least as good as any of our centres this tour, in a game like the one on Saturday you need his experience and leadership, he will be missed and although I obviously still feel the Lions can win, their job will be that much harder without the great man!!

Had to change something. Backline didn't make a single line break in the second test. Not sure what you can do when, IMHO, the 9 & 10, whoever he picks there, are not very good. The Aussies are used to playing the AB's and SA. One team has an extremely skillful backline, the other use bish bash. The Lions backline won't worry them. As always, this will be won up front. If it's inconclusive, then it may come down to one break. In that case the Aussies would be favourites with Genia and Falau.
