Budget 2020

Not in 2010 when they got in I didn’t, I voted Labour in 2010 and 2015.

See, you can’t help yourself though, you despise everyone that isn’t left wing Labour.

You’re supporting them like I support City but the difference is I know I’m a biased **** towards City and I’m bitter towards all its enemies.

There is no 'Left wing' labour.... there is only a party that wants to give you

Better employment rights
better pay
Better Education
Better Social Care
Better NHS
better Transport systems
Access to libraries
Security if you become unemployed or ill
Access to Social Housing if you need it

All the Conservatives do is try and remove those rights

If youre not in politics to make life better for people ....then you shouldn't be in politics.

Just a quick question .... why is the tax payer funding improvements to a privatised rail system ? Surely we should be increasing the franchise fee for that?

The stations are owned by Network Rail, a public body, so this is investment in public assets.

Most stations are managed on a day-to-day basis by train operating companies (the franchises you refer to) but they don't own them. If the franchise operator changes the station will be managed by the new operator.

NR only manages very large stations such as Euston and Birmingham New Street.

And yet here’s the Tories setting out a budget that involves record spending?

Not left wing? Why did McDonnell announce Corbyn as “this socialist will be Britain’s next PM (lol)” at the prior conference to the election? Of course they’re left wing.

How will Labour ensure my pay is better? The IFS said the manifesto wasn’t deliverable and the costing was pie in the sky stuff. A weak economy doesn’t improve my pay.

Labour went too far in December and even taking that broadband policy would have created many job losses in the sector.

The Tories moved towards Labour’s 2017 manifesto and Labour tried to out do them.

They would have trashed the economy and further down the line cunts like me would have to pay for it.

What you don’t see is that the Tories believe that a competitive and buoyant market will give people the opportunity to improve their situation. My belief is if you then ensure there’s an adequate safety net, you’re winning. Now the argument is that the safety net is too weak currently and I may agree but our current system isn’t a million miles away.

You believe in Utopianism and you only get there over a sea of blood.

We already tax an incredible amount and Labour wanted to tax more and borrow more. It’s a cocktail of disaster.

yes. Don’t assume amusement at Tory hypocrisy equates to support for Corbyn et al’s economic illiteracy.

Nothing that has happened today changes the fact that we are in the position that we now have so little ability to deal with the many crises in our public services that the only option is to borrow so heavily. More borrowing over the last 10 years when money has been super cheap would have left us far better placed to weather a disaster.

It didn’t help that the Brexit fiasco has cost us 2% of our GDP either, but that’s another story.

I’m not at all presuming that and I do find it amusing but it’s the Labour supporters on here who cannot see the irony of them still criticising the budget.

I have been against austerity in its harshness for the last decade. I thought we needed to cut back but they went too far.

I’ve also been on here talking about the crisis in our prisons and schools, which often gets overlooked for the NHS.

well that’s just tribal. Many of the people criticising would have applauded the same budget from a labour chancellor, and many applauding today would have criticised the same budget from a labour chancellor.

you’re right about prisons and schools, but it’s also our social services, the police and fire services, our armed forces, our courts and justice system, etc etc.

it’s a clusterfuck already and it’s going to get worse.
