There are many Kölsch breweries, some are good (Gaffel or Früh for example), and some are crap. It's not very strong though compared to many other German beers.

ye it was smooth also the glasses they give it to u in i was like wtf is this shit XD. what do u think of astra i think its awful hamburg was great but thier beer sucked !

there are a lot of jokes in the rest of germany about Cologne Kölsch beer and that it is served in a type of test tube. But they love it and Cologne has a sort of culture, that is different from the rest of germany anyway.

There are 8 or 9 different types of german beers and Kölsch (like Alt, the Düsseldorf beer) are not my favourite ones, but Blade is right, even i noticed differences in quality

Union has some hooligan groups, but not worse than other clubs. Other fan groups are causing more trouble at the moment.

Ruhr mate,Alt is like nectar, the best dark beer I have ever tasted in my life.

I think re Hoolies it was Dynamo Berlin not Union,my mistake.I know Dresden have quite a few loons as well.

If
Dortmund hit top form Arsenal haven't a prayer, once they get a head of steam up at home they take some stopping and they'll have 80,000 roaring them on as well.

only about 65.000 are allowed for CL matches... and amongst them, there will be some gooners as well I suppose...
They won't be heard that's for sure.

BVB support was what some other clubs would be proud of, but still a lot 'poorer' compared to Arsenal's last visit in 2011, whereas Arsenal's support improved by miles and I did my bit to add to the volume of the '1-0 to the Arsenal'-chants after 62 minutes...

Rotweiss, are you anything to do with Essen or Erfurt?

back from beer to football.

Tonight is the return of the Lower Saxony derby: Hannover 96 vs. Eintracht Braunschweig.
First played in the Bundesliga since 1976.
The rivalry dates back to the 17th century. Well, not in football, but between the two cities. Both were independent states in most parts of german history and both have their roots in the nobility of the "Welfen", who also played a role on some island in the Atlantic, as far as i know.

Must be about the 17th century, when Hannover became more important than Braunschweig.
The first football match ever in germany was played in 1874 in Braunschweig, where also the first german football rules were written down. Hannover had the first football club in 1878, but that was just the name "football club", they played Rugby indeed.

After the war the Brits founded the state of Lower Saxony with Hannover as capital, while Braunschweig near to the east german border was marginalized. The revenge came in 1963, when Eintracht Braunschweig was chosen as starting member of the Bundesliga and not Hannover (with Braunschweig winning the title in 1967)

To play it on dark friday evening is not really a clever idea, but sunday marks the fourth anniversary of the suicide of Hannover keeper Robert Enke, so Hannover wanted it not to near to that date. (A pig running around Hannover streets yesterday with a Hannover scarf around his neck and the number 1 written on his body may give an idea, why they were afraid of it played on sunday)

All media expecting a riot, but hopefully it stays calm tonight

Schweinstiger is going to have ankle surgery and will be gone for an extended amount of time. Schweinstiger's injury has made me realize how young Bayern's midfield really is,just look at this:
Toni Kroos(23)
Mario Gotze(21)
Thiago Alcantara(22)
Hojbjerg(18)
Martinez(25)

I hope losing a a leader like Schweinstiger will not be too much for these players. Hopefully this will force all of them to step their game up seeing that a slot in this packed midfield has just opened up and it may be their chance to secure a future spot in the starting XI.
