Burglar stabbed to death, Manchester [Merged]

Re: Burglar stabbed to death, Manchester

He deserved all he got in my eyes , he shouldn't be trying to burgle anyones property , and there's always a chance of confrontation ....... no doubt though that the householder will be severely interrogated , maybe even jalied , as his actions will probably be deemed to be 'extreme'.

I'm glad it isn't like the USA here. That is why their murder rate is through the roof. If burglars know homeowners are going to be armed they are also going to arm themselves, so instead of just getting your tv stolen, you or one of your family could also end up shot.

Im not quite sure how true that is.

You might risk nicking a TV if there's a good chance you'll get away unharmed, a small chance you get a kicking and a tiny chance you get stabbed.

If there's every chance you'll get a bullet between the eyes, there's a good chance that TV doesn't begin to look quite so appealing.

I see what he is saying though sometimes people are deperate and would nick anything even if there is only a small chance they would escape unharmed

This.

Anyone caught trespassing on a property should be dealt with according.

If they die, they die

It wouldn't be a solution to breaking and entering/buglary...

But if i was to do commit that kind of crime, i'd give myself every advantage and arm myself regardless. In this country, the law favours the criminal. I can't defend my house and my possesions by any means neccessary, The house owner should have the advantage and the law on their side over the criminal.

Bluemoon Off topic rivals the Daily Mash without even realising it.

The moment I heard this story this morning, I knew there would be an immediate off topic response and I knew it would be typically people venting their reactionary spleens about their own "Well if it happened to me, I'd ...." fantasies.

Thanks for keeping me entertained whilst the real story unfolds. Particularly the "A mate of mine told me..." jackanory's.

I think he should be put in jail.
Although I think you should be able to defend your property and damage the person in doing so you shouldn't be allowed to kill them unless it's kill or be killed.
Bollox
if someone tried to break into my property while my kids sleep they are getting it.
i have done it before when living on sale racecourse estate.
my missus woke me up in the night saying she could hear some one breaking in, i ran downstairs and this guy was halfway in my living room window.
I picked up my rounders bat and cracked him round the face twice.
He ran away and i never found out who it was but ill tell you this if a knife was the first thing i was able to get hold of that's what i would have used without a doubt.
and if you think its not right ill tell you another story.
in the same house whilst i was at work at a pub i got a phone call from my missus in a right state.
when i had ran all the way home i walked in to see my missus with a huge blackeye.
she had left the back door unlocked for me while she went and got a bath.after getting out of the bath she could hear someone downstairs opening and closing cupboards and drawers in my kitchen.
Thinking it was me she proceeded to walk down stairs and as she got to the bottom someone jumped out from round the door and knocked her out, she was left unconcious for god knows how long while my 2 and 3 year old kids where asleep in their beds.
so on that note, would i kill some one who was tresspassing on my property?
Fucking right i would!

Are you for real?

A balaclava clad gang break into his house, what do you think he should have done, ask them to kindly leave his property?

Fuck him and his scum mates.
Well to be honest I don't know the full details. But if my house was being robbed yes I'd grab a knife or anything I could find to make sure the people robbing me weren't getting away but I wouldn't kill them. I would though if they were armed and threatening to kill me..
Sorry mate, but if you are in my house in the middle of the night with a balaclava on,i will not be asking you if you are armed or what your intentions are.I will be hitting you with my cricket bat untill you fuck off or can not move.
Call me old fashioned, but that is the way it is.
but say you grab a pan or a cricket bat or whatever. You can hit them till they're knocked out but it takes quite a lot to kill them.
I know adrenaline goes up and you don't know what youll do in that position but you don't know the circumstances of the robber. Maybe he was being forced to do this or he'd be hurt or killed, maybe they have mental health issues. You just don't know and so I don't think it's fair to actually kill them.
