Once said burglar had looked round my flat he would realised there is only old electrical goods not even worth nicking. Prob feel sorry for me haha

I honestly think if someone is trying to break into your property in an attempt to endager your life then you should be able to take what ever means necessary to prevent them from doing so.

I honestly think if someone is trying to break into your property in an attempt to endager your life then you should be able to take what ever means necessary to prevent them from doing so.

If some one was in your house with a gun and by some miracle you managed to get said gun and shoot them you would be arrested for manslaughter as that person then does not present a threat. So the law is a bit of an ass really

If someone is killed after he has broken into someone's house it shouldn't even be a police matter. It should be a job for the council's rubbish disposal department.

I, and (I suspect) the vast majority of people posting on this thread, would just turn the lights on, make a load of noise and shout "Fuck off", and then hope for the best. It takes a certain type of person to walk into the unkown spoiling for a rumble and I'm definitely not that type of person.

burgled 5 times in rusholme twice in withington twice in victoria park


turns out I was living next door to a burglar in withington and 2 doors up from one in rusholme

my advice get a postie as a neighbour!

About a year and half ago I woke up to hear 'someone' say 'is he asleep?' Now this was about 2am and I had been in a really, really deep sleep but something stirred me enough to wake up. I was positioned as such that the duvet was covering my face. I was 100% certain there were 2 people in the room with me, 1 either side of the bed. I had nothing within reach at that time, so the only option was for me to dive out of the bottom of the bed, which I did. No fucker was there, what I had heard infact was the tele! There was a wildlife doc on and the 'is he asleep' I had heard was the guy on the tele asking his mate if whatever it was they were stood next to was asleep! I shit it though, I don't mind admitting I was petrified, because it must have been because I was half asleep, but that 'is he asleep' I had heard being whispered was so clear I instantly presumed 2 people were about to do me in. Absolutely shit myself! Was quite impressed how I got up though instead of waiting there, so I kind of proved to myself that if that situation was as real as I thought it was, I would at least try and do something about it.

Not really. You'd be arrested and almost certainly charged with murder. It would then be up to a jury of your peers to interpret the law and decide whether you acted reasonably. That's exactly as it should be in my opinion.
