Cardiff (H) Post match Thread

Most players have a club in their career where they were home. Where they were appreciated. Where they had the best time of their playing life and where they are remembered fondly. That Danny Mills played for six different clubs and the fans of all of them fucking hate him says everything about him.

For what’s its worth, I generally leave early, especially during a late kick off or if I have plans after a game - the key reason is TFGM and the lack of capacity on the tram network getting to and from the Etihad.

Yesterday, the trams on my journey across the city centre were full and passengers changing at l corn brook, peters square Piccadilly couldn’t get on the Ashton train and it was mayhem - there were many tantrums and tiaras with many frustrated supporters including us who were forced to wait and wait again for the next tram (which was full again) - after all that tram fuss, we just about caught kick off!

Then leaving....

If you don’t get to the tram stop before the whistle, there’s a around a 30-40 minute wait to just to get to the tram platform!

When it’s cold, dark and you have work in the morning, all you want to do is get home as quick as you can, not hover in the city centre too late and catch your tram connections in good time.

So to all those armchair supporters who watch us leave early or arrive late - don’t judge us, judge the transport networks which is increasingly poor for the surge of supporters prior to and after a game!!!
If I'm just going back into town I now take the bus.
The only drawback is they leave from the other end of the ground.
Again though that is twice I have used it,10 min the max in queuing time and far better organised than the tram.
Left at full time twice though as I sit at the
front and move to family stand at 80 to 85 min in a quiet part of game.
Far better getting to game as well.Just queue outside Piccadilly Travelodge.

If not for the Cardiff keeper, this game would have been won by a landslide. I just hope he plays this well against the scousers in a few weeks time. However what's the betting that he will make a mistake that will gift the scousers a goal, that will give them the game.

The job was only to get that game done, rotate, get 3 points and recover for Saturday.
Except for Zin's hammy (let's wait) the outcome was near perfect.

Not the match itself, but honestly, at no point anyone could have expected home vs Cardiff will be a cracker.

We HAVE to see the bigger picture.
Stones, Fern, KDB all on a good way after their injuries.
Mahrez, Danilo, Jesus, Foden taking some workload off those resting.
7 changes and still full control.
Back at the top.

Routine win, on to the next. Cup match will be tougher, but we have more than enough for Brighton.

Thanks to all who tried to create some atmosphere and yes, I did hear the "Bernardo" chant :)

Watching the pre game warm up and Cardiff were playing little one two's followed by shooting from twenty yards or so and the keeper was making some spectacular stops
