Carlos Tevez sticks to his guns over leaving Manchester City

Like others I am fed up of the whole Tevez saga. I am also fed up of people laying all this at his agents door, he may be a despicable character but Tevez is a man not a child. If he doesn't want the move all he has to say is no, you don't have to be a genius for that. His family situation is his own fault and let's be honest he is in a much better position than most fathers separated from their children in that he could move back to Argentina and never have to worry about money for the rest of his life. If his wife did agree to move to Europe he could be there in a couple of hours. We are a club just stepping out onto the big stage and I think now is the time to lay down the marker that we will not be messed around by players no matter how important, if we don't then what will his demands be next season or next January will we all be nervous that he will pull the same stunt again. The club needs to strike first give him a deadline and if he hasn't sorted his situation out then to bad and we move on. I am not naive enough to think it would be easy for us without him but the club has bent over backwards for him and there has to be a point were enough is enough for me the time is now.

Post of the week.

I have read the Guardian for years and Daniel taylor is NOT a fair and balanced journalist. Any anti City stories he can include he does, and this goes back years. we must have really upset him.
What I'm constantly amazed by, is how willing Daniel Taylor, Neil Ashton (NOTW) and others are, to run what is effectively a PR campaign for an unliscenced agent in a personal vendetta against a Premiership club.

Given Joorabchin's reputation, why don't treat all his statements with massive pinch of salt? They must either:

a) Have no problem getting their stories from a highly disreputable source.

b) Love him because he calls them up all the time with new stories and statements, saving them days of actual investigative work.

c) Both of the above
To be fair to Taylor Tevez's agent is the authorised representative of Carlos Tevez. If his agent issues a statement to the journo.s are they supposed to ignore him? As the saying goes "dont shoot the messenger."
The problem is with the agent.

Joorbachian is Tevez's 'advisor' not his agent, he's not licensed to practice as an agent in the UK.

If a journo receives a statement, I would expect them to:

a) Admit it was given to them by an agent or lawyer - not try to add mystery by saying it comes from inside the player's "camp." (They do this with all players, not just Tevez)

b) Use some bloody judgement, and decide whether a guy who used to be making millions in charge of transfers at City, and is now on the outside and embarrassed, could maybe, have an axe or two to grind against the club?

These journalists happily reported at Xmas that Tevez's relationship with the City management had 'broken down beyond repair.' How on earth does a guy with 10 words of English have a 'relationship' with management at all?

Publishing a statement from someone else without any critical analysis, or common sense of your own isn't journalism, it's a PR campaign.

If he wants to go, we must let him go. No good keeping an unhappy and (very) disruptive player in a season when we hope to do even better than we have this time.

He is not the first great player to leave City, and he will not be the last. The club will always survive.

Thanks Tevez, for all you have done. Good luck for the future. You will be replaced by someone who wants to be here.

I think you are looking at this with blue tinted spectacles. I agree Joorbachian is in effect mounting a public relations campaign against our club. As I said before Tevez has given him authority to be his representative and speak on his behalf, (even if he does not hold a UK football agent's license). Until Tevez speaks for himself he is the only "voice" coming out of Tevez's camp. I appreciate it is frustrating for you that the journo does not make a balanced comment to accompany the story. The story from "the Joorbachian's side" gives City fans some realisation that Tevez may be leaving after all. I dont blame the journo for reporting the statement, however its a pity all sides cant sit down in private and sort it out. It reflects badly on the club to be airing the dirty washing in public.

Agree 100%,. But with Tevez, I don't think it's a coincidence that it's played out in public. Given the chance, my guess is that Joorbachian would be in the City boardroom every 10 mins negotiating new deals, image rights and percentages etc.

But the Club have made it clear that they're going to deal with agents and 'deal makers' as little as they have to, and not at all until the season is over. Kia doesn't have the ear of anyone at the club now, so the only way he can try to force the issue is through the press.

Like I say, the most surprising part to me, (especially after Rooney) is how certain journos, papers & TalkSport are so happy to run Kia's PR for him, without any awareness of what he's up to.

None of us know Teves's mind, he clearly has a need to be with his children but he had those needs when he signed his contract for 5 years. I will just wait and see as we all must.

I hope he stays and makes some arrangement to gain easier access to his children as often as he can.

I think he would be foolish to leave for any other reason than his children as we are on the up with major opportunies to make history in the best league in the world as well as the Champions League. I am sure he wants to be a part of this.

Surprising !!! Why, if they think they're getting first dibs at a story they'll be coming in their pants typing it up.
Some would even believe that these advisers/agents actually pay some journo's to do their work for them, but I could'nt believe that for one minute.
