At last, not a bad return either if we get anywhere near the £10 - 12M. I'm looking forward to watching our forwards work together and for the team. Tevez always played like he had to do it all himself, even when there were far better options around him. A great player, but far to selfish for my liking.

Tin Hat on firmly on.

Howling here :)

The £47million fee isn't a new story and doesn't include wages.

First reported in The Times on September 12th 2009...

Manchester City are paying an astonishing £47 million fee to Carlos Tévez 's private "owners" in a move that obliterates the British transfer record. The deal makes the Argentina striker the fourth most expensive footballer of all time.

City's billionaire Arab owners have agreed to pay almost twice the £25.5 million fee widely reported to have changed hands, The Times can reveal. An initial £15 million payment is to be followed by two additional sums of £16 million.

Another £3.5 million will be paid if City win the Champions League while Tévez is at the club - an improbable scenario, but Sheikh Mansour has already shown the lengths to which he is prepared to go to transform the club from perennial underachievers into contenders for the biggest prizes.

From David Conn

Very difficult player to replace at twice the price. Always felt better when he was on the pitch. The one player that could win a game on his own.

No bloody strikers left at this rate!

Some people say that he was one of our better players last season but one of my main problems with him last season was that he didn't deliver in games that mattered.

Not a single goal or assist in the CL. Don't remember many important goals against top oppositions either. Phil Jones had him in his pocket at the swamp.

Don't think he had the motivation to win trophies anymore and it's probably best for both parties to move on.

In his first 2 seasons he was the best player we've had in the past 20 years. Past 2 years he hasn't been quite at that level. However he was absolutely outstanding at the swamp up front on his own and against Chelsea in the semi 6 days later so your talking shite on that front.

I'll take Suarez any day any time..

If Mourinho who is arguably the worlds greatest manager was seen to be too much of a gobshite, then Suarez has absolutely no chance whatsoever of playing for us.
He's a racist, a cheat, a liar and a first rate scumbag.
Sign Suarez ? We might as well appoint Ian Brady as our new PR manager.
