Subject: Dear Colleague
Dear colleague,
You are a valued part of the team that, in normal circumstances, allows us to deliver to supporters the outstanding matchday experiences for which Manchester United is renowned.
As such, we appreciate that the past few weeks must have been an unsettling time as our business has become disrupted by the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and the UK Government advice to limit social interaction.
We continue to monitor the rapidly-evolving situation on a day-by-day basis. As you know, all Premier League games are postponed until at least April 30 and it is uncertain when we will be able to resume normal operations.
In these circumstances, we felt it was right to clarify what our approach would be for our loyal casual workers should the remaining Premier League home games be cancelled or played behind closed doors.
To help reduce the financial impact of such an outcome, as a goodwill gesture we will pay you the equivalent to what you would have been expected to earn over those remaining four games.
This sum will be calculated for each individual based on the number of games that you have worked over the 10 games up to the end of February, to arrive at an estimate of your average match day earnings for the next four matches. The monies will be paid to your bank account in four instalments on the dates on which the remaining games were scheduled to take place.
If you have any queries please email:
people.services@manutd.co.uk
We hope that this clarification provides you with a measure of comfort in these uncertain times and demonstrates the importance we attach to the critical role you play.
Please stay alert for further updates from us when plans for future games become clearer following Government advice and guidance from the Premier League.
We look forward to welcoming back our supporters to Old Trafford – and the teammates that serve them so well – as soon as we are advised it is appropriate to do so.
In the meantime, please accept our best wishes to you and your loved ones.
Annie Hale,
Director of Group Human Resources
