Most sensible post of the thread. Club knows how many ST holders they have with 2000+ points, how many Cup Scheme members below 2000 points and how many tickets left after the other allocations so it's simple maths after that.Halfpenny said:I'm on 2440. Though you're probably on the wind up, I think you need to look further up the loyalty points greasy pole for the no-shows.danebanksheik said:Good, might make people turn up to cup games next year
Fact is, everyone knew that on the first day there'd be a mad rush. A weekend combined with a large amount of people being eligible due to the cup scheme. You're not going to see anything like that again throughout the sales period, so people saying it won't go to 2000 are wide of the mark. The club said they expected everyone with 2000+ to be able to buy one, and I can't see that having changed just because of a big queue on the first day.
I think Halfpenny is right. Day 1 you had the extra people from the Cup Scheme.Mental_blue said:Most sensible post of the thread. Yep. Cup scheme and those with circa 3000 points buying with people with people on 6000+ as a group. As I say, the first day was always going to be the spike.Marvin said:I think Halfpenny is right. I am going tomorrow, just trying to work out what time is best. Really don't want to stand in a queue for 4 hours.

I dont know about the shop staff, they do work for kitbag now?JohnMaddocksAxe said:danebanksheik said:That is not all staff, probably coaching staff and office staff but certainly not stewards who I understand have to go in a ballot. I do not see anything wrong with this and is what I would expect at every club.
Why?
Does the woman on the checkout at Tesco get free food when they launch a new product?
And even if they did, it is still not really comparable as it would not affect other Tesco customers' access to the product.
These people are employees. They are paid to do a job.
Of course people on the playing and coaching side of things are going to get hold of tickets - and in a way, seeing as their efforts got us there, it is justifiable - but are you saying that you really think that someone who works in the club shop or the ticket office or some other office job is more deserving of a ticket than the season ticket holder who is first in line when they run out?
For free too?
I doubt it. Imagine going for years, for whatever reason having a lowish amount of point and then seeing what could have been your seat occupied by Maureen from the ticket office who barely watches football or Derek the steward who is actually a rag.

As i said for the stewards this is a ballot and if derek the rag puts his name in and gets one I am sure the blue stewards would make it known to the club.
as for other businesses, in what ever sphere of life - if the business does well the staff usually get rewarded in some way. Since only 20,000 of our loyal band have attended some of our cup games it is not unreasonable to allow staff to take tickets. Once we start to sell out for cup games year on year then the club will have to look at it.
For anyone "going for years" and having a "lowish" amount of points "for whatever reason" - I can explain the reason for you - 1) only a season ticket puts you in line for a Wembley ticket but the bottom line is 2) you don't go to enough games. Sorry if the truth is a bit blunt for you to take but there it is - but as we are only imagining this person it cant hurt can it.
So Maureen, thanks for working for the club in whatever department that is and I hope your day out at Wembley makes you realise (if you dont already know) the passion we have for the club. Now I am only imagining this as I know you are a city fan anyway but I know you have to work on match days so you dont have a season ticket so you couldnt apply in your own right.
There are a thousand what ifs but the bottom line is that a system is in place that has not changed for a long time and we get a big game and there are thousands with excuses why they dont have enough points.
Its simple - go to games and get points - dont go to games and you end up watching it on the telly.
It has already been shown elsewhere in BM that a first year season ticket holder who went to the cup games this season would have enough to meet the suggested 2000 cut off so i dont get why you are concerned with non season ticket holders who only go to a few games.
