Na he will suit. but hes not worth the price tag. not even half of it imo.
Just out of interest how much do you think he is worth? I reckon he is the best available striker in the whole world and when you look at his goal scoring record then I think he is worth 50 million. Well in today's Market anyway, obviously it is arguable no player is worth anywhere near that kind of money.

How much would winning the Champs League mean to City? Not just the prize money, but the extra revenue from mechandize and sponsorship that the worldwide recognition that winning such a prestigious trophey would bring? Cavani's goals could help make that dream a reality, and when you think about it in those terms, he's not that expensive is he?

No he's not that expensive at all when you look at the daft numbers talked about for Bale for example!! You gets what you pay for. I still think we'll get him.

Suarez: I would give my soul in every match for Real Madrid

The Liverpool striker has once again commented on his future in the media, and says he is "disturbed" by the Anfield outfit's absence from the Champions League

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has once again heaped praise on Spanish giants Real Madrid as speculation continues to surround his future on Merseyside.

The Uruguay international, currently in Brazil for the Confederations Cup, had previously claimed he would relish the chance to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for los Blancos.

And now the 26-year-old has begun discussing the qualities he feels he could offer Madrid, saying he would give his all for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.

“I will give my soul every time I step on the pitch,” Suarez revealed when asked by El Pais what he would bring to a team like Madrid.

“I have done this with Uruguay, Ajax and Liverpool. I do not hold anything when I finish a game.”

Suarez also reiterated his belief that joining Madrid would be the pinnacle of any player's career, and admits he is disappointed that Liverpool will not be playing in Europe next season.

“A player always aspires to be at the top of their profession and Madrid is at the top for any football player,” he continued. “But, do you know what it is like to play for Liverpool?”

“It disturbs me that Liverpool are not in the Champions League every season.

“I’ve suffered at Liverpool, but when I think of what it represents to play for this club, and the love my daughter has - she sings the hymn - the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I play at Anfield.”

Fcuk spending 50 mil plus on 1 player, get Jovetic for 25 ffs, it'll piss off Arsenal into the bargain, so it's a win win.
That's like saying, don't go for Silva and instead go for Arteta. Still good player but nowhere near in terms of quality.

Jovetic would be the most pointless signing we could make this summer.

If we are going to play 4-3-3, we need either a central striker or a very good left sided forward who will more than chip in with his fair share of goals. Navas/ Silva won't bag many and Aguero misses many more than he scores. So we would be lacking goals, just as we were this season.

If we end up signing Isco (fingers crossed) I don't see what Jovetic could bring to the table that we don't already have.

I'm inclined to believe we've dropped our interest in this player. We've been after him for over 2 years now and seen his price going up and up over that time and ADL has played us for a fool with his taunting jibes and using us to raise his price.

Seems like Pellegrini wants to look at the current strikers before he makes any major transfer decisions and as he does start until June 24th then Cavani's future will be decided before the time taken to assess the current squad has passed.

Jovetic seems mediocre to me. I'm starting to think that we just need someone good in the six yard box (cos we have so much strength running into he box already). That means an unfashionable striker could b the missing ingredient...someone like Graham, Fletcher or wait for it .... Drum roll ..... Chicarito o whatever he's called.

:-)

Seriously though who has hat knack of tapping in the lose ball inside the six yard box Hesse days? Is it a lost art?

No, those players just tend not to be able to do anything else.
