Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

The one I was thinking of but will not be a popular choice on here was Mario Gomez. As long as we have the players who can create and do some of the donkey work then Gomez has an uncanny knack of being in the right place.

Real Madrid say they want everyone. I'd like to think that if hey get Cavani we get Isco and the better deal.

It's funny I sort of understand the frustration other clubs must have had with us now. Just how many sodding players do Real Madrid need?

The only thing I like about RM is their dislike of Bayern ( a club so self important that if they played over here I think I would hate more than the rags)

Nah, hopefully they get Suarez and Bale, we get Cavani and Isco.

If they played over here Bayern & Utd would hate each other more than we hate the rags. They are both the same & would have the same problems we see with Utd & Liverpool.

Probably.

I'm still not convinced Cavani will suit our style of football.

Na he will suit. but hes not worth the price tag. not even half of it imo.
Just out of interest how much do you think he is worth? I reckon he is the best available striker in the whole world and when you look at his goal scoring record then I think he is worth 50 million. Well in today's Market anyway, obviously it is arguable no player is worth anywhere near that kind of money.

It's nothing to do with his price its the type of player he is. I think he's better suited to a counter attacking type of team like Cheslea who want a Drogba type up front to score on the break. Pellegrini's teams play the possession type game and I'm not convinced Cavani fits that type of team. I'd have no problem in us breaking the bank to get him if I thought he was 100% right for us.

This new Cavani story seems to be in Corriere dello Sport rather than Gazzetta? Had a look around to verify the story on 101 Great Goals, saw nothing on Gazzetta but found the story on CdS: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.corrieredellosport.it/calcio/serie_a/napoli/2013/06/16-325194/City+avanti+per+Cavani.+Napoli%2C+Dzeko+pi%C3%B9+vicino" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.corrieredellosport.it/calcio ... %B9+vicino</a>

I honestly think we can forget Cavani. He wants to play for Madrid and also Chelsea will pay a fortune for him if Madrid falls through.

If we get Isco for say 30 million (hopefully he will choose City over Madrid) I think the FFP rubbish will stop us from then getting in to a bidding war for Cavani because someone is gonna have to pay approx. 60 million to get him. Unfortunately, at this time, both Madrid and Chelsea are better positioned than us FFP wise.

We shall see.....I just hope we can get at least one of them.

I'd like to know if we are playing one or two up top. If it is one than I don't see the point of Cavani as both he and Aguero will want to start every game. Even if it is two up top, we would need another striker to be cover on the bench (unless management deems Guidetti enough).
