Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

I honestly think we can forget Cavani. He wants to play for Madrid and also Chelsea will pay a fortune for him if Madrid falls through.

If we get Isco for say 30 million (hopefully he will choose City over Madrid) I think the FFP rubbish will stop us from then getting in to a bidding war for Cavani because someone is gonna have to pay approx. 60 million to get him. Unfortunately, at this time, both Madrid and Chelsea are better positioned than us FFP wise.

We shall see.....I just hope we can get at least one of them.
You're wrong about positioning re FFP.

This doesn't sound too clever....

The striker's father, Luis Cavani, however, said that his son has told the family that he wants to move to Madrid.
"Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid,'' he told Futboleros. "He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through.
"He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli.''
Cavani Snr also revealed that representatives from the Liga club have already held talks with the Uruguay international.
"There has been contact with Real Madrid's lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet,'' he said. "I hope it happens and that talks take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?"
He did, however, concede that Napoli's reported €65 million valuation of his son could prove to be a stumbling block during negotiations with Madrid.
"It's not just up to Edi,'' he said. "They are talking about 65 million euros and Napoli won't negotiate for any less.''

Old news mate.

Been away mate,sorry..

I'd like to know if we are playing one or two up top. If it is one than I don't see the point of Cavani as both he and Aguero will want to start every game. Even if it is two up top, we would need another striker to be cover on the bench (unless management deems Guidetti enough).

I would assume he will want the flexibility of being able to do either - let's say we have Aguero and Cavani then he would presumably want to play both players in most games, BUT if one was injured I assume he would want the ability to play 1 up top with 2 more advanced AM's, such as Isco/Silva/Navas. Cannot see us being pigeon holed into 1 formation for every game

Explain why???.....and I hope that I am wrong about this.

Chelsea broke even for the first time last season whereas it will most probably take City a couple of years to achieve that....I think we had a loss of around 98 million.

I don't believe all this we are not in for Cavani stuff.

It's quite evident we need to freshen up our strike force and if the opportunity to sign Cavani came up you take it, we were in for Falcao by all accounts so I definately see us in for a top striker.

Cavani is an upgrade on Dzeko in my opinion and if an offer was put down of 40m + Dzeko then for sure that would be a deal done if you ask me.

All depends on Real Madrid, I think. If it's Suarez they want, we have a huge chance of getting Cavani (at least 50/50 between us and Chelsea). If it's Cavani they want, it will be difficult because they have plenty of dosh and if Napoli accept player swaps, Real have a brilliant squad. Plus Cavani has the usual Iberian and South American fixation with Real Madrid and/or Barcelona like Ronaldo and so many others. I think it all depends on Real's transfer strategy after Ancelotti is in place.

My guess is we were in for him at one time and have moved on.

You value Cavani at 64m?

Chelsea broke even on the back of winning the CL, but we have zero fears about FFP. We will be able to bid whatever we deem a player is worth. FFP will not constrain us in this window.
