Cavani Speculation/News 3 (or 4)

I can't believe how narrowminded some people are who base an opinion of Cavani on last night's performance. Humidity of 80+, monsoon rain and the best team of all time passing the ball and moving it around for the whole game. Basically last night is the kind of game scouts write off.

I hope Madrid are as fickle too, that way we get a clear run for the player.

Can't believe what I've read I really can't.

If Spain played Wales yesterday, Bale for example would have caused much more of a threat. That's because he's a 50-60m player, Cavani and even Suarez aren't.

Anymore than the 38m we paid for Aguero? No thanks. Every time he plays for Uruguay he's garbage, only proven in his perfect setup at Napoli.

Guessing you watched the game too...what'd you want him to change or do exactly, enlighten me.

And your Bale argument is tosh...just saying.

I'm not saying he's not a good player. My point is he's not worth anywhere near 55m. For that sort of money you need a special player than can change a game on his own. Last night wasn't a one off in terms of him doing nothing for Uruguay.

At Napoli the team is built around him, if he were to join us it would be more like Uruguay. Aguero would most likely partner him up top and he'd also be rotated/ rested etc. Not worth it.

Now, you enlighten me, why is Cavani worth 55m when we have a better striker in Aguero already at the club?

Im wondering if many go to watch City?

Against us Cavani was brilliant, strong, powerful and scored goals. I watch the game last night against spain, yes he hardly got a say in the game, but i thought his over all contribution, his vision to bring the non existent midfielders in to play was great. He looked strong and he looked sharp at times turning spanish players only to be brought down. He almost scored with a header from a free kick, the guys looks good in a poor team.

I hate these supporters that can stay up all night exited about the prospect of signing Cavani then watch him in a below par team against the best team in the world and start calling him as hes never really had the service he deserved.

The guy would be a great signing, he ripped us apart.

1. You read just a few posts prior, you'll see I don't think he's worth £53m.

2. Playing for City is nothing like Uruguay. I think he and Kun would make excellent partners, personally. Cavani on the line giving defenders someone to think about and Kun in his prolific marauding striker role you saw at Athletico with Forlan.

3. (IMO) Aguero is not a better striker, far from it, needs too many chances to score. However, he is a better footballer than Cavani.

Would you be happy if we paid 55m for this guy? If we want him, that's the price. For me, good player, not the best striker in the world.

I'm wondering if you watched that game. His overall contribution and his vision to bring the non existent midfielders into play was no-existent.

Commentator described him as disappointing. For a player who is supposedly worth £50 plus million it was a very poor performance.

I know he played very well against us twice, and his record in Serie A is amazing, but last night he was very poor. Yes he didn't get the ball much, but when he did get it his touch, control and use of the ball was poor

I do remember a bad touch or two but he was able to recover with ease. I can't agree, Marvin, that he was "very" poor. Or even poor at all.
