Chairman's Interview

These used to be good when it was new, refreshing. But now.... Well... Pretty predictable. 99% swerved the important thing to regular fans.

We tried to leave the league. We had Glazer quoted on our behalf. Disturbing how distant he is from your regular fan....

Agreed.

The shameful Glazer quote, the whole ESL fiasco, stadium investment that could've been done while it was empty, means that beyond corporate tinkering there'll be nowt for the likes of you and me.

I've sat through corporate statements like this too many times, often delivered by slightly unhinged Yanks, this was just a upmarket version but just as empty.

Do any other premier league chairman do a end of season interviews ? If I were him
I would fuck them off , he’s not appreciated . I really enjoy listening to him but looks like I could soon be in the minority .

Listening to him because he speaks to well yes, like many are saying there is just little substance to it but we shouldn’t expect much more. Isn’t going to let out all our secrets or plans. It’s harmless and a nice touch it’s done every year, just unfortunately most years are the same

I don't understand the negative comments about Khaldoon
Everyone likes Khaldoon.

But tell me...what did you learn you didn’t already know? Now if you are ok with the answer being “nothing“ then that’s fine. I’m ok with it because I take them for what they are, love City and love Khaldoon. But if you give me a choice the questions would have been much harder and relevant to supporters. The “funny” last question “are you bored yet?” was almost a face palm moment for me.

There are posters on here who were asked to send in questions. It’s clear that that was just a PR exercise and so I get why some are disappointed...but they shouldn’t be because City never use Khaldoon‘s end of season talks for that it’s more a rallying cry for next season leaving most feeling great about City and in that respect he is second to none.

Do get a grip.

Back in the day I listened to a corporate statement like this, delivered to universal approval, two years later the same guy sold up and the factory closed.

Khaldoon is not that kind of shyster but they're all schooled in the same techniques. He's in it for the long haul, and we're going to continue to be a major player, but beyond that there was no substance.

He told us nothing because he can. He's a good chairman but he's about as far removed from regular match going fans as it is possible to be.

Is he doing anything with the stadium??
He was asked about that but just reiterated what had been done in the past. Said they would look at the scruffy areas.

As every year he knew all the questions in advance which were, in the main “aren’t we great? Care to talk about how great we are?” Which is OK as we are great and the audience is all blues.

One exception was what was you worst moment....now I’m not saying losing to Spurs ten years ago wasn’t a low point as I was there and it was a big let down, but I bet it wasn’t as big as being accused of cheating by UEFA.

Sorry I could have stopped after the first sentence but got carried away!
