Champions League Draw (Cont...)

Buzzin off the group even if it's even tougher than last year.

4 Champions. 4 quality stadiums.

10 points and we should get through this time since Ajax are better than Villereal.

The only thing that pisses me off is how we play tough games before we play Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. Doing well in the CL could hinder our bid to retain the title :( Roberto will have been on the phone to Marwood by now...

Chelsea are away to Juventus in the week they play us and Arsenal are away at Montpellier, even Spurs will play in the Europa the week of our game with them I think.

Agree Utd could be though by the time they play Cluj so could rest a few but we might be too..........although doubtful

and what is Schalke? A russian team?

exactly... that is a bullshit reason... and even if it were correct... what about Cluj and Nordjeasland

it's been covered aplenty.

Read it now... But it's still bullshit... for TV? WTF? This is the top competition in the world and it's 'arranged' for TV..

See it like this - one of Real, Dortmund or Manchester City will loose. Maybe two, if Ajax is a surprise.

For me as a Bayern fan I sit back and wait.

Schalke has Dortmund's group from last year (only difference is Montpellier instead of Marseille) and will show them how you compete in Europe.

Dortmund's players will be with their heads on the next Wednesdays and Tuesday when playing the Bundesliga - even if they do not want it. That was their main advantage last year - 2 days training more each week for tactical issues, less journeys, no focus on other stuff... And they will not be able to go with the same energy in all of the tournaments that they need for their style of play. They will fight for Ronaldo's shirt two week in advance...

Di Mario will show Schmelzer all about di Maria, even if Großkreutz plays in front of him they will have difficulties - the other side will see that a Ronaldo is a Ronaldo - Agüero and Balotelli will show Hummels and Subotic the themes of Italy and Argentina... Some of the players of Real - and maybe of ManCity - might not be much better - but smarter on other ways. Not always in the good sense - but who cares.

If they will master to get first or second - I do not mind - I then only laugh about ManCity or Real or both. And the Bundesliga Championship will go easier with them going into more rounds.

If they get third - then the Europa League will cost their attention.

And if they get fourth - sorry, then there is really much to laugh about...

That group D is so fun to watch like this.

For me it is more fun to see Dortmund or Real fail - so this time I really wish you much luck...

For you Dortmund. The season is over.

;-)

For those wondering, TV rules stipulate that each nation's clubs have to be drawn equally into each half of the draw, so as there were only 2 german teams Dortmund had to be drawn in our group as it was the only group left in the opposite half of the draw to Bayern.

and what is Schalke? A russian team?

The TV channel that broadcasts the CL in open television (only Wednesdays) has the right to tell which teams he does not want to play on the same day. The ZDF that broadcasts in Germany did not want to have Bayern and Dortmund playing at the same day as both teams will have more watchers than Schalke has.

Yes - where do you think the money comes from the teams get from the UEFA.

The teams in England - there it is four teams - get distributed evenly, too. The reason for that is broadcasting... 2 in each sector. When it is three teams the broadcasters are questioned. It is in the interest of the viewers of that country. Real and Barcelona never play on the same day either. Wish of the broadcaster.

20 million might watch a Bayern match - 15 million might watch one from Dortmund - 10 that of Schalke.

If Schalke is alone in a colour and it is group days it will be 3 times 10 million and maybe twice 15 (Dortmund has the more interesting matches), and once 20 million - that is 80 million viewers.

Like this - now Bayern has one evening for itself - the broadcaster can show 3 Bayern matches with 20 million - and maybe even 3 Dortmund matches. (sorry for Schalke - but the most interesting Arsenal match is paralell to Real I think)
That makes 115 million viewers.

The broadcasters on open TV do finance their programme with advertising - and that is better sold the more viewers you have.

But that is what ZDF probably thinks.

And maybe Dortmund has more of the successfans that are not willing to pay money for watching...

Yes.

Dortmund always had enough fans to sell out their stadium etc. - especially of the region. But with the hype the recent two years they got an additional bunch of fan as it is "in" to be Dortmund fan. There is a couple of Ex-Bayern fans that shout for Dortmund now... That is the type of success fan that always will favour the one that wins...

Right now you do not have to excuse yourself anymore if you are a Bayern fan - that you might be one of this kind. They all ran to Dortmund... ;)
