Daft question maybe but what's the best money to take, Turkish or euros ?

Alot of people now use the revoult card when traveling. You can choose what currency you pay in.

I think for the stuff you will more than likely need it for (local taxis, kebab shops, small boozers etc) lira will likely be better

Take sterling over (not him) plenty of exchanges over there but there are plenty of bar owners that will give you a better rate. I'm a regular visitor to Turkey and can assure you this is the best way.

Coins are pretty much worthless over there anyway, 1 lira coin is worth 5p.

Is anyone heading to Sultan Ahmet on the friday night. Looks the best place for bars. Old town cobbled street type place. Taksim square looks more of a day place. I ve watched a you tube clip of liverpool fans there back in 2005 looks pretty shit tbh.
