Also, no Coins allowed into stadium.I think for the stuff you will more than likely need it for (local taxis, kebab shops, small boozers etc) lira will likely be better

Take sterling over (not him) plenty of exchanges over there but there are plenty of bar owners that will give you a better rate. I'm a regular visitor to Turkey and can assure you this is the best way.Daft question maybe but what's the best money to take, Turkish or euros ?
Coins are pretty much worthless over there anyway, 1 lira coin is worth 5p.Also, no Coins allowed into stadium.
