Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Some of the so called fringe players can’t complain if not picked after that Mendy has never recovered from the knee injuries, Sterling I just don’t see it even though some of his stats say otherwise

That was my point. Damn it!!!
I’m only voicing my frustration. I thought today was a shocker. That’s my opinion and probably not yours. But I respect your opinion and will always respect another Bluemooners point of view.
If we were In a pub I’d shake your hand and buy you a pint. We are all frustrated. That’s all it is.

Yes loads of changes, yes a change of formation we would be all praising Pep if Kun scores that penalty and we go in 2 up, the game would be over. We get that penalty it’s 3, I’m sorry but it’s one if those things, I’ll show my arse on the town hall steps if United win all 3 this week before we play. Just a shame we couldn’t do it on our terms. This and the fa semi defeat will now be burned into this squad, Pep can get them so up for it we will be impossible to live with.

I think another upsetting thing about Aguero is that it means his last season is gonna end on a sour note, because Pep probably won't trust him, not even in the CL final.

That's a massive shame.

So it's unheard of that a player deemed to be fit for selection then goes on to do his hammy for example?

Picking the Champions League full strength side from here until the biggest game in the Club's history would be utter lunacy.
So you don’t play them and then they get injured in the first 10 mins or play shit cause they’re not sharp. It’s not as if we’ve got loads of games left either

Picking the full strength side is absolutely the best option.

Jesus wept this forum at times leaves me speechless both Aguero and Pep have plenty in the bank . They both messed up today we all know that . Let's put things into perspective we will win the league we have one cup in the cupboard already and hopefully the champs league to make up the three

A bit of a 'show me why you should start' team which backfired again, some who were thrown under the bus a little with that horrendous formation. Rodri had the unenviable task of chasing every midfield runner which made him look dreadful, the mistake didn't really help matters either.

The positives are Pep knows who can be trusted and who certainly cannot. Thought Laporte was probably the stand out but that's even a stretch but the wing backs were awful today - we've given Mendy so much time and patience to give us a little return and every time he's the worst player on the park. Other positive is that in the grand scheme of things, the result is meaningless - we will wrap it up one way or another.

The negatives are this Chelsea team will be full of confidence against us, although we never played our best 11 either game, it just allows them a bit of bravado coming into the final.

I'm pretty confident that our strongest 11 will keep them at bay but the only issue is we've been isolating individual players against Dortmund and PSG whereas this Chelsea team are reminiscent of us in having threats all over so a different proposition.

Away for a beer, enjoy the weekend blues and on to the next one.

I've seen two penalties recently taken in big games for their clubs ( Peterborough to gain promotion the other week and Derby to stay up today) both at late stages of the game. The penalty takers were clinical under extreme pressure and that's championship and league 1 strikers.
What is the matter with us??
mental block

Any professional should able to put a penalty away 9 times out of 10

God help us if the fianl goes to penalties

Guys,

frustrating as fuck as I should be drinking champers now dancing in the rain,

but

we are still going to win the premier league again it’s just a matter of when, could even be tomorrow ; and

our first team will beat these in the final.

People come on here to vent their frustrations and some people come on here to vent their frustrations at people venting their frustrations. It is frustrating .
Anyway, the first team will be too strong for Chelsea in the final. It will be close though.

After 10 great years I think he's entitled to the odd fuck up. If the keeper had dived and that had gone in we'd have been lauding it as the best penalty ever. It didn't; shit happens. Get over it.
Fuck up? It was a monumental fuck up of monumental fuck up proportions.
He was still seriously pissed off that Raz hoovered up for him. Maybe that's the unseen arrogance that's kept him out of the side. Who knows?

As frustrating as it may be, I don't think that this result will change anything for you in the PL's grand scheme of things. I back Liverpool beating the rags and you'll be champions next week either way.

Pep clearly didn't want Tuchel to face his strongest XI and if Aguero didn't have that brainfart, the game was over. The only annoying thing is that it may give Chelsea a boost of confidence for CL finals.

Still amazed by what Tuchel has done with them. Never in my life I would've seen them where they are right now. I fear for us in the FA Cup finals.

Pep keeping his cards close to his chest...... not bad, not bad at all.
Not really though is he because tuchel will know who will be starting so it’s no secret but he needs to let the lads play there game in the final and give it our best shot. It will be a difficult game because for his Chelsea team is a very good outfit managed by a very good coach who will run us very close .not arsed about mendy because he has been shit since virtually day one but I don’t get how anyone thinks Jesus is good enough for us because he is clearly not and His reading of the game is comical . As for kun I think he genuinely distant the dummy out today but I don’t know why . We will win the title but it’s so frustrating.

Where's the big psychological boost? They played a side with 9 changes from our best team and put together in a completely untried formation just to fit them in and only managed to beat us with the last kick thanks to some poor decisions, there's really not much of a boost they can take from that
This.

Although MSM will spin it much differently.

Something like "Tuchel, along with Noddy, has Pep number".

I think Pep has now thrown 5 Derbies to the tactical genius that is Noddy.,Tuchel still has a long way to go yet to achieve Noddy level of greatness..

*May 29th " Say hello to our first team ! "

* I fucking hope
