A republic would be better than a monarchy but I think the current Royals are quite a decent bunch. Better than a republic might be the way that Cuba operates. Despite the pressure of that nearby Republic, the USA, Cuba gets by in a very fair and equal way. Sadly, other Communist countries tend to give Communism a bad name. I'd love to see the UK run along Cuban lines. We have advantages Cuba doesn't have, and rather than the obscene rich lording it, we would have a good enough economy and nobody unemployed.
