Chelsea (N) | FA Cup SF | Post-Match Thread

Just had a look. She was posting photos of herself in lingerie late last night. Not much about the football.

No shame.
Almost certainly has no interest whatsoever in football. Just uses it as a tool to interact with football fans and to groom more 14 year old boys

Lucky to win really.
Chelsea and Jackson in particular could have finished the game before City scored the winner.
Saying that, the players must have been exhausted, but still battled, dug in, and took their chance and scored.
It was always going to be a tight game with one goal either way being enough.
Roll on to another FA Cup final.
Thankfully 5 days rest before Brighton away.

I thought it was a decent game which was characterised by some profligate finishing, hence why the commentators kept making out it was a poor match.

What got me more than anything was our energy levels. No one showed signs of weariness which was incredible after Wednesday's extra time exploits.

Guardiola, his players & our coaching & management staff are just on another level.
It's getting to a point that City games I really enjoy are called boring by the media and the opposite way round for the games I find boring. I thought yesterday's game was one of the best semi finals I've seen and enjoyed for some time, although I was on edge until the final whistle. Think it was that cretin Luke Edwards who said he had no sympathy for City playing yesterday and Pep should have rotated more players if they were tired. You can bet if Pep had made many more changes Edwards would be the first to criticise Pep for devaluing the cup.

Watched the second half again this morning. Bit too much pissing around near the box yesterday. Overplaying it. That changed when Doku came on as he is much more direct. We have got to stop plying such a high line against quick forwards too. It’s so risky and caught us out a couple of times or so yesterday.

Just been checking hotel prices for the final! Not cheap!

City vs Chelsea is more of a global draw than ManUre vs Coventry. If I was the BBC & had the first pick, our match is the one I'd have opted for in terms of viewing figures.

Granted, the FA must look at potential fixture pile ups like this in future, & come with something more joined up.
Bigger global draw? What about the romance of the fa cup and the world wanting to see if the giant killing minnows from Trafford can beat big bad Coventry. :)

Doku is a great aquisition for our club, he can beat defenders with ease. He will only get better as Pep drills him in what to do.

I simply don't understand how footballers, who have played the game, can even debate this (fans who are in bad faith, pundits who are deep down hostile to us, yes, that I understand all too well).
When you jump as high as you can from a standing position, your ams do not stay straight at your sides as if you were a soldier on parade. Everybody knows this. It's kinetically impossible. Jack's arm was somewhat out from his side, maybe 20°. And he'd have to be a very clever boy indeed to know that the ball was going to head towards him, and exactly there. It wasn't at a bloody right angle.
There's nothing whatsoever to see here.

That would be a relevant point if for a handball offence to occur a player still had to have deliberately handled the ball.

That’s a general point, not an observation on the Grealish incident.

If he had raised it, a pen might have been awarded, but as you rightfully said, he was trying to lower it as the wall separated and the ball was going well wide and deflected back towards goal.

All of that said, I'm surprised VAR didn’t “give it,” by making Oliver go and have another look. However, if Oliver told them exactly what he saw and he didn’t think it was a one, and VAR confirmed what he saw, then there’s nothing to overturn.

Strong refereeing in my book.
Handball legislation is probably the one thing that Webb has improved this season.
