Chelsea (N) | FA Cup SF | Post-Match Thread

A great win and a cracking effort from the team and fans. The game itself wasn't a brilliant spectacle but never mind. The 1st half was quite poor with numerous mistakes, especially on the right side of defence. Plenty of balls given away cheaply throughout the match by 2 or 3 players. However, this was surely down to the after effects of Wed night by being a bit jaded so is completely understandable. Another final and the lads deserved it.

Shearer's only managerial experience was a brief stint with his beloved Newcastle when he managed to relegate them.
I take Shearer's opinion as seriously as Spitty who has never managed and Ratboy who also failed miserably in his only managerial stint at Valencia.
It's not the first time Shearer has had a pop at us after we complained about unreasonable TV scheduling either.
When the paedo protecting BBC put us on a Sunday night 3 days before a UCL trip to Kiev, he said "I don't get resting players" now he's saying Pep could have made changes.
Shearer needs to pick a lane and stick to it rather than choosing the narrative to give him a reason to have a go.
This coming from someone who turned his back on his country at 30 to prolong his club career.
Played in 2 Cup finals and lost them both

There are some idiots following football these days, many working in the media. I have had a good look at the Grealish penalty appeal and anyone calling that a penalty really needs to find another sport to moan about.

Missed it but excellent result after the mid week result. From what I heard it wasn't much of a game so not sure I will bother watching it. Players must be knackered.

In a sinister kind of way, it can be quite an object lesson to watch, just to see how poor we can be when we're absolutely shagged out. It was particularly flagrant in the case of Kev. I don't think I've ever seen him play so many off-target balls since he's been with us. Hope he can recover for next Thursday.
Also worth seeing to appreciate how good Ortega is. How long can we keep that guy, when he's that good, and plays second string?

United felt that participating would be too much to handle, which led the FA to propose dropping out of the cup. The decision was made on 29 June 1999 and United chairman Martin Edwards said there was ‘no alternative’ and that it was in the ‘national interest’. The FA suggested Man Utd withdraw from the FA Cup / John Gichigi/Getty Images

just a reminder

There's alot of fixation from 'neutrals' about Grealish's 'apparent handball', but I thought Caicedo was lucky to not at least see a double yellow. Some of his tackles were very cynical.

I simply don't understand how footballers, who have played the game, can even debate this (fans who are in bad faith, pundits who are deep down hostile to us, yes, that I understand all too well).
When you jump as high as you can from a standing position, your ams do not stay straight at your sides as if you were a soldier on parade. Everybody knows this. It's kinetically impossible. Jack's arm was somewhat out from his side, maybe 20°. And he'd have to be a very clever boy indeed to know that the ball was going to head towards him, and exactly there. It wasn't at a bloody right angle.
There's nothing whatsoever to see here.

and thats why players dive.it was a foul and var should have flagged it up.you shouldnt have to go down for it to be a pen

It's sad, isn't it, that honesty is in effect punished. Phil's another one who doesn't go down unless his feet have really been taken from under him.
