Wow, I did not realize he got those figures.

Maybe I am wrong.
That doesn't even tell the whole story. The amount of great chances Torres and Ba fluffed from Mata's work last season was frankly laughable. From simple things like constantly being offside or poor touch. His productivity is just incredible. With a clinical striker ahead of him they'd be guaranteed goals in any game. He's great at set pieces too (especially corners) which United are currently quite poor at by comparison and use their main striker to take them.

If Mata goes to United, Mourinho is a United fan because it could be a Van Persie-esque gifting of the title.

Why is it every time either chelsea or the rags are linked with a top quality player people post shit like "if they get him, they win the title" or "might as well hand the title to them" like hysterical women.

The only player who would single handedly come even close to ensuring trophies is Messi, because he is that unique

If the rags get Mata, they get Chelsea's best player but they already have that type of player in Kagawa and look how much of a an influence he has at the scum, he is an improvement over Kagawa but not a huge one in terms of ability.

If Chelsea get shrek they get a quality forward who is nowhere near his peak but he will be replacing Torres, Lukaku & Ba. Again its an improvement but not a huge one.

Personally I think both teams will be weakened by the deal, Mata won't give the rags the central mid they desperately need and shrek will only be a marginal improvement on an already decent forward line, assuming he can even get back to his form of years ago.

Without any hint of bias we have a far stronger squad AND first eleven than either of them on paper and assuming Pellegrini gets it right, the title is ours to lose.

Mou isn't stupid enough to sell to a direct rival like other teams are

Mata could play on the left or right of attacking midfield with Kagawa behind Van Persie. Then the other spot is taken by Nani, Welbeck, or Valencia.

Carrick - Midfielder
Nani --- Kagawa --- Mata
RVP

Would be so much stronger than what they currently have. Kagawa can also shift out and play on the left so Mata could play behind Van Persie as well.

No offense but Kagawa aint a patch on Mata.

On a sidenote, some chelsea fans have turned and started saying things like how Mata is not suited to their system, Oscar is better suited than Mata, Mourinho knows best etc etc.

It will be a massive mistake from Chelsea board if they do end up selling Mata. Mourinho will be gone in a season or two (given Abrahamovich's trigger friendly fingers) but Mata has good 6-7 seasons in him at the age of 24.

They're deluding themselves to rationalise it. It'd be the dumbest move we've made since signing Torres.

Mourinho confirmed again today that we're not selling Mata. This is the third time he's asserted that, claiming that we'll be looking to loan players out rather than sell. So it seems the Mata rumours are rubbish. He also confirmed that Willian is practically a Chelsea player now. I don't understand the logic here since we're already so overstocked in his position but we'll see how it unfolds. It almost seems like we're signing him so Spurs can't.

There are substantiated reports today that we've activated Jackson Martinez's release clause from Porto. He scored 26 for them in the league last season (league top scorer) but I know nothing about him. But at least he's a striker.
