Thought that Lewis Hall did really well for them today. Has looked a good (albeit obviously a bit raw) player every time I've seen him this season. One to keep an eye on.

They were awful today and honestly I couldn't figure out what their team was about. They seemed to have no plan, no interest and quite honestly they are in a lot of trouble. I was shocked to see some of their players just not playing for the team or manager. I honestly thought that Azpilicueta seemed to care and Hall too - the rest were not up for it.

For the money they've spent, Pochettino has got his work cut out and I'd not be surprised to see him hoofed before the end of next season. They seem to be in a slow free fall and whilst I don't rate Lampard as the manager, Lampard isn't the reason they can't buy a win and that's the same for Everton. I question his judgement in taking on truly shit jobs though. After Everton he shouldn't have gone back to Chelsea as his record is looking very, very poor now.

I think there will be a fire sale there in summer with some good footballers getting moved on to raise funds.

It's incredible to think they had Salah, Lukaku, Ake and KdB and let them go for pennies. They seem to have a good scouting network but no idea on how to build a team.

We are in shit state right now, so most criticism of the current situation is fair, notwithstanding the mercenaries comment above is going way too far.

However, we've built a few very good teams over the last twenty years, including one that outplayed your team consecutively over a number of games in 2021, most notably in Porto.

Is outplayed a euphemism for smashing our best player in the face without so much as a yellow card when it would have resulted in criminal charges if it happened on the street? If so, I agree. You definitely outplayed us.

I don't doubt you've built good teams, but 2021 is in the past and what I saw today was no team. I couldn't see what you were trying to do and I've always felt that good teams "have a plan" and today the plan seemed to be to get on the coach, play a game and go home.

I do think you need to pick a good manager (not sure Pochettino is the answer) and I thought Potter was a good choice. Once you've got the manager, back his judgement. I know you've done well "hiring and firing" when it suits, but I do think it's been the quality of players in the past who've done that. Let's be honest, me and you could've managed Chelsea with the players they've had in recent years. However, at the moment, it seems the team needs a manager and they don't seem to have one as Lampard is out of his depth.

However, I don't see too many players that - for example - I'd take to City in that squad. I just think the next manager has a massive job on their hands.

I think you make fair and reasonable points. It's pretty much as bad as I can ever remember, to be honest. Has a been a rough season.

I think there is plenty of talent in the squad, but that's going to be hard to see at this moment.

You were miles better early 000's then us, but Porto! you got a bit lucky there, Pep fked t right up. Today, you can't judge as all manager less teams are lazy and scared of getting injured b4 new broom rolls in... so i wouldn't say mercenary just pragmatic, which fks fans off as you (we) pay good money to watch

I think you might have a point re what's going on right now.

But lucky in Porto?! Not for me.

Most spineless opposition team I've seen this season. Dreadful on every level. The Chelsea players and coaching staff should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

They came for a day out.
Clear reason for this..they are professionals...and they only play for job security..Fat Frank has no bearing on their future. Trying hard and getting injured does.. (Fat Frank should also turn it in really 1 win in about 30 with Derby and now Chelsk) He just isn't a manager

No pragmatic , we were crap, with that mad cap last minute Non Def Midfield decision..really shot ourselves in foot that night. You were just above average and that was all that was needed that night. You have smashed us for about 15 years before we got Tevez mind you. We were close when both in Div 2, what a season when we were 1 and 2!

I'd be hopeful though if I was you, Chelsea have a knack of finding good managers and bringing them in. They also have a good scouting network and a healthy chequebook.

You're having a transition season and I suspect next season will be similar (but you will improve) but there's enough there for a good manager to work with. Players like Mendy, Kepa, Chilwell, Cucurella, Koulibaly, Fofana, Kante, James, Mount, Enzo Fernandez, Mudryk, Sterling and Ziyech are plenty decent they just need to be made into a team. A good manager will do that and I'm sure you'll be back in the top 4 soon.

Its good to know that even if Arsenal won yesterday, we would have still won the league today and probably doing it by smashing Chelsea had we needed to field a better side

My god, they're awful. I think apart from 2 or 3 players, they put in no effort at all. They should be embarrassed by that if they're real pro's. It's easy to see why they are where they are. It's not lack of ability, those individuals should be able to give anyone a decent game. They just can't be arsed. I'd say it looks like they receive no coaching either, but I don't think that's it. I think they just can't be arsed carrying out any plans.

Maybe Poch can get a tune out of them. But he must be watching them and thinking he's got a huge job on his hands getting them mentally where they should be.

..Frank.. just isn't a manager

Agree. We love him for his time as a player at Chelsea, and tbf to him he did a good job bringing through the youth in his first managerial stint.

But as a manager I'm extremely skeptical he has what it takes.

Agree.

I think top 4 has to be our goal next season. We aren't going from where we are right now to challengers, imo.

I thought they played well in spells today. They have far too many players and of the same standard is the issue.
That's a really good point. Me and mine have been saying for the last few years that we've got a ton of 7s, but not many 8, 9-10s (out of ten, that is).

Kepa

James
T. Silva
Badiashile
Chilwell

Kante
Kovacic
Fernandez

Mount
Sterling
Lukaku

Chelsea have a very good starting 11 on paper, if the right team is selected, and it's criminal that they can't buy a win. I know they can't select the above due to Lukaku being at Inter still, and injuries, but for me that would be something like their strongest side without more additions.

They have so much deadwood to get rid of this summer. Aubameyang, Ziyech, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Koulibaly, Azpilicueta, Mendy... But put someone like Osimhen in the above starting 11, and perhaps someone creative to replace Mount, like Maddison, and they would look a strong side if Pochettino got them playing.
