Should have been sacked before christmas for me.

He's an awful coach imho.

I'm not a big fan of his myself but they're spunking hundreds of millions on players and expecting an unsuspecting manager to make miracles happen

Also Potch won't have walked for free nor will his staff ( same with all those who went before ) and recruiting a new management team will not come cheap.

City ruining football again

This season hasn't helped Vinnie, to be honest. Yes; it's a championship squad he was working with. And they were always likely to struggle. But he seemed unwilling to adapt the tactics that worked so well in the Championship the season before. No "plan B", if you like. Not sure how attractive that would be to club owners looking for a manager. If Burnley don't sack him, he should stay there for at least one more year. Learn the nuances of managing a professional football team. The Chelsea job is, in my opinion, 12-18 months too soon for him. Plus; it's a big job. And there's going to be some big egos in that dressing room. I'm not sure he has the experience (yet) to handle those types of players.
I agree with you on some points like he’s about 18 months off with the experience thing to manage Chelsea, but I don’t think owners are looking at that now, there looking at potential and Vinny has that in buckets.

Time will tell, I guess. I really want him to do well, for obvious reasons. He's one of us, even if an adopted one. His missus is a Manc, though, so that's good enough for me.

He is US private equity. Doesn't matter if Chelsea end up as a hollowed out basket-case as long as he is up on the deal.
Granted, I’m American but I think this behavior is less “American” and more just a part of what Boehly does (private equity) and who is he - as I think you’re suggesting. It’s not like this is happening to this degree in every other professional sports team in America.
