City Fans V Bayern Fans

german ultras are organized and singing is as important for them as the match itself. You can´t match with them unless you have the same attitude towards the game and the same form of organization. And maybe it is not the worst thing to stick to your own tradition of support.

German Ultras don't even watch the game. They have flags flying in their faces and don't know when the ball goes out for a corner or when there's a penalty, coz they're all looking anywhere but at the pitch. The atmosphere in the Premier League has been killed by all seating and safety standards.
Not so long ago, grounds in Germany were empty and dead. Back then, you all envied the English atmosphere. It's swings and round abouts. If they were to limit the times when you can get a drink to the half time interval and make your grounds all seater and put your prices up and also tell you to sit down and stop making faces at the away fans, or tell you to shut up, when you're about to open your mouth, you'd soon get fed up and stay away. Just like you all did in the 80's and 90's. Dortmund and Schalke have always had the best support, however, any avid Schalke fan would admit that the atmosphere is not the same in the new Stadium. Loads of people seem to forget that WE used to sell out most games home and away, in the 3rd Tier of english Football. Never been bettered since. Our atmosphere was top back then. We were envied back then. Yoonited were winning the treble and we were soooooooo fookin shit, but we were still there, as we are now. It's not the fans, but the authorities that have killed the atmosphere. Being quiet is not our tradition, as you well know.

Is that right? I knew Italy had a fuck load of problems, and their stadiums look really empty, didn't know that about the Bundesliga. Makes sense though, basically we've been raped for wallet. We should have done what the Germans did.

Will never ever forget that napoli goal celebration at our place, fcuking mental

A small example. The season after Bayern were crowned Champions League winners. One of many occasions, when there ground was half empty for a Champions league match.

well, that was 1989 with a low in attendances (average 18,934) . That was after a decade of rotten stadiums, hooliganism and extremist fans, boring and ugly football and a generally very negative attitude in society and press towards football and players.
It changed in the 90s with private tv getting the tv rights. They turned the Bundesliga into an event for the family and "produced" stars again.
New and bigger grounds were the next step.
And finally the world cup 2006 turned everyone in germany into a football fan. Even the dumbest actress and every politician then claimed that he had been a fan of a club for the whole of her/his life.

well, i had been there and remember the times. You can´t compare it. In the 80s you had matches with no atmosphere at all, other times the crowd went mad. It depended on the match. These days there is always a certain level of support by the Ultras over 90 minutes and a great atmosphere only if the rest of the stadium joins in. It´s now not better or worse than in the 80s, it is a complete different of form of support.

i didn´t mean being quiet. i meant Ultra´s lifestyle is not your tradition.
