It means a lot more to the owners than to me, however it was also clear to see on Tuesday how much it also means to the players.

Therefore I am happy to support the players and hope we win it for them, it still sticks in my throat though how they tried time and time again to screw us over.

And what about the Premier League

I want City to win everything they're in obviously but I find the setup of the chumps league too contrived. The seedings make sure it's the same clubs year on year. It's a glorified FA Cup and doesn't signify the best team in Europe.

We did that didnt we - forgot lol.

You've almost hit the nail on the head through forgetting we won back-to-back titles there.

We've won a lot. This season would be the 5th league title since the takeover and there have been some real highs to each of them, but 2012 is the one we'll all remember and never ever forget. A lot of the other success will fade as time goes by. We'll have some memories and remember the overall numbers but because winning things has become normal it is harder to pinpoint exact moments.

I think each league title will probably stay quite strong in the memory because it remains a significant competition to win. And my love for the FA Cup means I wont forget those.

We haven't won the CL though. And winning it would always stay in the memory, just like 2012. It would be our greatest moment, if 2012 hadn't have been a battle with united. Because it was, I think that might still edge it.

Joining the big time just means things do take a different perspective. Ask the rags about their title winning sides and specific moments and they'd struggle because there have been so many. But ask them about the European Cup/CL and they've only won 3 so could recall all of the details without a problem. It's not true that winning the league is harder. Over 38 games you can make up for mistakes. There's no chance in a knockout to do that. One bad game can be the end of your chances. Even now - we've put on the best run by an English side in the CL ever. But we still haven't won it! That shows how tough it can be. People might say you can win it without winning games, but that adds in a level of tactical nous and competition which makes it even more intriguing. Do you play to defend a lead or do you get another goal/away goal which could make all the difference?

You see this is why this whole "I don't like the Champions League because I don't like UEFA" sentiment doesn't wash with me. In reality I believe a lot of it represents an inferiority complex, or Imposter Sydrome.

The FA have always been a bunch of old white public school men, totally out of touch with reality, who have taken MCFC to task legally numerous times for bullshit reasons.

I've never heard anyone say they didn't want to take part in or win the FA Cup.

The Premier League was formed by all the biggest clubs to syphon all the revnue towards them. They've fucked about with kick off times and days and ignored matchday fans repeatedly. They've allowed their club to be run by the biggest clubs. Their referees are shit too.

I've never heard anyone sat they didn't want to win the Premier LEague.

It doesn't matter what you think of UEFA. Their trophy is the biggest and most prestigious of all and it has provided us with some of the best, most exciting games in our history already.
I think you may have a point about impostor syndrome but the difference between the FA Cup and CL is that the latter has been changed over the years to be a cash cow for certain clubs, along with insulating them from elimination for as long as possible.

Coefficients, seeded pots, the whole group stage, which is designed to favour the better teams, going into the Europa League if you fail in the group stage, the market pool system which financially favours teams from the big leagues, etc. It's been systematically rigged by a handful of clubs, to suit themselves.

The FA Cup, on the other hand, is a true knockout tournament that can see you drawn against Liverpool or Lincoln. And if you don't turn up on the day, you're out. Lose one game and you're out. Whereas Liverpool lost 4 games in winning the CL two seasons ago. That's why people are still a bit suspicious of the CL.

Similar criticisms can be levelled at the Premier League and I wouldn't be surprised if fans of tradition lower league clubs are as suspicicious about the premier league as some of our fans are about the Champions League.

What about the world cup? It's now proven that brown envelops change hands, bias is shown towards certain countries, basically the whole of FIFA has been bent as a nine bob note for twenty years. They have pots, seedings etc right throughout.

I still want City to win the Premier League and England to win the world cup just as much.

Not liking the format or traditions of a competition should not effect your desire to win it. And I desperately want the whole world to see us become Champions of Europe and England.

Even the old European Cup format was home and away so you could theoretically lose one leg and still go through. But i agree that the current format isn't great.

As for the thread question, i never like seeing City lose any game, even if the sting has lessened over the years.
I love winning the League, the Cups and i am so proud that we are in the European Cup/CL Final.
We are at a level i've dreamed about and i am revelling in it :-)

COME ON CITY!!!

Is pretty much how I feel about it, especially as its UEFA's baby and the way they've treated us over the years puts my back up against it, but this year has felt different, as though I have accepted we need to win it to show how great this team is to others along with the fact we have a realistic chance and have put in some wonderful performances in these latter stages.
Premier league hate us just as much and would kick us out given the chance

It's crazy that a cup competition can allow the winner to have a record like:

P13 W8 D1 L4 F24 A12

Now guess who that was and when-hardly top 4 form never mind anthing else!
