city fanzines....

I think we might still only be scratching the surface of the fanzine wars yet...

;-)

We have some of the best fanzine writers around.Plenty of The King of the Kippax writers have got their work in national magazines.
Bill Borrows does alot for national publications,Dante did a few years on the City mag,Gary James of course contributed to alot of various fanzines and he is the best known City author now.
Ged is still going in King of the Kippax,i think he deserves a mention.

I agree. That would have been cowardly had it happened. Only it didn't. I was there. You weren't. You're a bigger fantasist than Phill {sic} is. Two posts = two libels. Someone's been nursing a grudge for a long time!

I have to say that I knew Noel well back in the day, we used to drink in the Nelly in Didsbury and I can quite assure you that one thing he never was, was a bully. He could have quite a caustic tounge, but was generally very funny. I have no agenda with other fanzines, just weren't my cup of tea, wheras I always thought BTH was.

One thing I do know, BTH never kowtowed to the club unlike other fanzines and was always truly independant.

BTH----The only City zine to come from Manchester

Reading the last few pages reminded me why I was glad to get out of involvement in the whole fanzine fandango back in the early nineties. It's ironic that some of us that made a decent career in 'the press' on the back of that invaluable experience have obviously moved on whilst others seem to be struggling with the quick sand of the past. Please let it go now. The club we support is now worldwide news so that whatever transpired in the Kippax car park should remain as it truly is, HISTORY, no more and no less!

Great footy & silly letters
Not content with whingeing, Labour have sunk to the new low of permanent name calling. Oh dear, oh dear!

Labour’s “local” people have a tendency to be rather rude and childish. There is one chap who is simply unable to remember his local Cllrs names, and now last year’s Labour candidate in my ward has the childishness to address a letter to Dermot O’Hanlon in the local paper!

Noel, if you are incapable of reading people’s names written down in front of you, how do you expect the electorate to have confidence in any other abilities you may have?

If I began referring to Ivor Lewis MP, the Council Leader being Ben Blobby, or United’s Manager being Alex Ferdinand, would it be funny, or just churlish and pathetic?

This thread is brilliant!!! Never realised a fanzine underworld existed!!! I've just given Ross Kemp a buzz and he's very intrested in making a documentary about it!!

Ha Ha and there was me thinking my £1 or £1.50 was going to making the Editors rich and it was actuallly funding underground rival militias, for the record and ive bought them all my favourite of all time was City til i Cry.

This'll be one for the likes of Mascherano et al (MCFC have no history). Do we know if other clubs had scraps and handbags after the match between rival fanzines?
