City matchday presenters sacked over podcast (P6)

Had the misfortune to listen to ‘The Sausage’ the other day. I wasn’t particularly offended just thought it was poor. Sounded like a couple of six formers pissing about.

Had already decided not to bother with it again.

P.s - I think it’s pretty ridiculous that someone has lost their job over it.

I don't think you can compare them to professional comedians. Comedians are paid to push the boundaries and talk about taboo issues, and usually do so after having thought about it carefully. Presenters aren't paid to do this. They naturally have to be a bit safer in what they say. Jimmy Carr could say something without issue that Fiona Bruce might get fired for, because that's his job. Private companies tend to be very PC with their public image, so anyone who they employ to be a public face of that company will have codes of behaviour that simply don't apply to a professional comedian.

City are so worried just like every other organisation is when something like this happens, so before any flak comes their way just sack them immediately. Absolute PC madness yet again, what has happened to this country?

That’s it. In my local pub, we’re all from completely different places and the banter is top notch. It doesn’t really happen in work and certainly not to clients.
