City matchday presenters sacked over podcast (P6)

I watched lethal weapon a while back think it’s on again tonight (Gibson and Glover) against the triads uncle benny is found dead and Riggs says looking at him “it’s fried rice you plick “ is that offensive to some it’s a pisstake on his English ffs
32 years ago, when that film was released, they probably would’ve got away with it. Evidently, times have changed.

I think the club were in a fairly difficult position tbh. If they’d done nothing then the media would’ve been all over it, so they had to act. As mentioned before, it was pretty foolish for two relatively high-profile club employees to think that sort of content would be fine. I doubt it was in any way malicious, but it was certainly ill-judged.

That’s right ric 32 years ago but it’s still being shown and does that mean cause it’s from that time it’s ok then, like rising damp were rigsby is constantly trying to belittle Philip who I turn makes him out to be a a gullible English buffoon..but in the end as you say ric the club probably had to been seen taking action before the media grabbed hold of it,it’s a bit of a storm in a teacup for me ..

Manning admitted he was a racist in his final interview.Always stayed away from his place as I wasn't foolish enough to allow myself to be singled out which by all accounts he would have given my skin colour.
He was merciless with everyone, no matter the background. All were fair game for his razor-sharp wit and timing. He was nonpareil in the comedy world.

Oh well we now live in a society were some are offended by anything and everything no matter how trivial that may be ( not saying this is trivial)but really is it offensive to imitate say Chinese,Spanish,Irish,Scottish,Americans,English or African like the two did in the podcast for god sake we see yanks ( opps) Americans taking off English accents and going on about crooked teeth is that offensive to some. The Irish are usually called thick paddies in jokes and so forth does anyone find that offensive,I watched lethal weapon a while back think it’s on again tonight (Gibson and Glover) against the triads uncle benny is found dead and Riggs says looking at him “it’s fried rice you plick “ is that offensive to some it’s a pisstake on his English ffs ...the society is becoming scouse like ashamed of nothing offended by everything or maybe I’m wrong after all,and I’m just a thick Irish twat ...
,
"the Irish are usually called thick paddies in jokes", in jokes I don't find it offensive, unfortunately it is a term more often used in an abusive derogatory context sometimes racist by individuals who consider themselves superior beings, harking back to the days of signs like "no Irish, no blacks, no dogs" which appeared in reality not comedy shows or movies. Maybe find a better example like some country where there are no City fans to take offense.
