City Matters thread

Yeah I was thinking of applying as I've had an Adult Season Ticket, ever since I became an Adult in 1981-82

More importantly, I worked in Market Research for almost 30 years so I've got a good understanding of Seasoncard demographics and how this is critical when considering changes of policy.

The only snag is that the willing volunteer and the control freak can often be the same person and my opinionated mindset can spot these people a mile away.

In other words I would never be considered because I won't always say what they want to hear
The club may well consider listening to dissenting opinion if there are swathes of empty seats when the extension opens.

I would encourage applicants

The club set the process, but thanks to Alex, CM now sit as part of the recruitment process

You have to be in the room to have any influence at all

And CM have got the club to move on a few issues / but it’s not always the case, as ultimately like other fan advisory boards, we can only provide that fan feedback to the club, what they do next is out of CM and fans hands - you can only lead the horse to water, etc

Happy to talk through the pros and cons to anyone looking to thinking about applying

I went to Coop Live before the game a few weeks ago. I was talking to this guy from City Matters about why season-ticket holders don’t get a discount on beer in there. He told me it had nothing to do with City, even though I’d literally had an email from City inviting me to go. He didn’t seem bothered at all and was way more interested in handing me a key ring than actually answering my question. Just a weird interaction overall.
Morning

Just to clarify, pretty sure I said that coop live is not operated by the club, the city group do have a stake in coop live

The club agreed with coop live that drink prices would be the same as the stadium prices - but season ticket discount did not apply

Hope you are benefitting from the key ring you took

I didn’t think it was a weird interaction, you asked a question and got an answer - and a freebie

CM are holding another drop-in before the Wolves game on Saturday
Between 1300 & 1400

Good opportunity to ask about what the role entails and also welcome any feedback around our expectations we will put to the club on 26/27 ticket strategy

Going off the response it sounds like you were the weird part.

It does seem odd, or at least disingenuous, that they email season tickets holders that is is the same price, if that is not the case.

The "discount" applies to the majority of food and drink sold inside and outside the stadium, even non-season ticket holders get it on the Ebar's which are very busy.

It sounded like a legitimate question was raised as why there was a difference. Maybe a IT thing.

Ultimately the coop live venue is a seperate operator from the stadium

Whilst the branding and set up looks same / similar there is separation

The agreement between the two (coop and city) was to get prices the same as the stadium prices

Here is a question for @CityMatters-LeeB .
Given the club normally puts out season ticket renewals in early May and there are at present two more fixtures in May, how are they going to determine wether folk have met the 10 match personal attendance criteria? On a more general note is there any sign of them binning it?

Responses from the club will be included in final minutes, when published.
Discussions are very much ongoing, with an extra full group to be arranged for the club to come back on what CM took to the table.
Once final outcomes are decided these will be communicated.

As always any feedback welcome

94% of season ticket holders on track to meet 10 game in person policy. We (CM) have asked for it to be fully revoked (we shall see)

With regards to season ticket pricing timeline, we have asked that it is set in the calendar and us done so everyone is aware in the spring period - like other clubs such as Spurs

What does that mean though? 94% of season ticket holders had attended 5 matches or more by Christmas or 94% of season ticket holders might reach the 10 match threshold? The two are very different.
