City v CSKA Moscow Pre Match Discussion Thread

Pants did nothing wrong and if he was picked on merit because of Joe's lack of form for the Norwich game, then you can't drop him and Hart will have to wait a little while longer before he gets his place back, otherwise it makes a mockery of the decision yesterday.

Assuming we beat CSKA Moscow and then pick up the 1 point to make certain against either Victoria Plzen and/or Bayern Munchen. As this will put us 2nd in the group who would you like to be drawn against, bearing in mind that we will be drawn against a team that finishes 1st in their group, and we can't be drawn against an English side.

CSKA Moscow won 2-1 away at the weekend

This was their team

Akinfeev, Ignashevich, A. Berezutski, Nababkin, Shchennikov, Wernbloom, Milanov (Elm, 68), Honda, Tosic, Musa (Zuber, 69), Doumbia (Bazelyuk, 90).

I am glad that Dzagoev is not yet playing. He is one of the best players in the game.

Just hope all you that sit in the south stand and sections around the away fans have a safe evening. Expecting a heavy police presence and also not expecting the cska fans to be overly well behaved. I'm attending but thankfully won't be anywhere near them

Stay safe blues

Sorry but are you being serious, there's about 500 coming

Seems CSKA are slowly finding form in the league. It'll be a comletely different game than at Moscow. We should ab-so-lu-te-ly not underestemate them in any way. We need to play our best 11 and not get carried away by the result vs a very poor Norwich.
Come to it, even if we get a result to win head to head, we even need to be at our very best to beat Pilzen. Any lack of concentration and we will be punished, no matter what the opponent. This is Ch.League and we shouldd not forget we have so far showed nowt in this competition for over 15 matches.

So to start, it is unthinkable to play Richards ahead of Zabaleta, let alone someone suggesting to play Boyata and not Demichelis.

We should cheer every time one of their black players touches the ball. Lets hope they dont score though. :-(

Bollocks.

I wish people would learn to understand the rules of the groups/mathematics.

A win on Tuesday secures qualification.

Plzen have to win their 3 remaining games for it not to be the case, which won't happen.

We would also need to beat Bayern 4-0 to finish 1st.

Therefore, reserve teams after Tuesday.

The games are coming thick and fast, after today's magnificent performance can we replicate it against CSKA, win this and we are as good as through to the next round

All in here please

If we win we ARE through.

Not if Plzen beat Munich....

-- Sun Nov 03, 2013 10:21 pm --

Absolutely, apparently City have refused to sell tickets to UK based Russians. Tickets only sold via CSKA to their members.
