City v Liverpool Post Match

Nas had a great game.

Agreed; he was excellent in every facet of the game. And aside from the very brilliant Kompany and Fernando, I thought that Clichy was the dogs 'nads tonight as well. All the rest were merely very very good. ;)

And we didn't even hit top form. God help the league when we do.

Fantastic ...Mario loves city and never heard him bad mouth .

Speaking of this, as I suspect there are more and more of us non-Mancs who follow the club from abroad (though I come out to matches once or twice a year usually), it'd be great to have a song thread where those singing can post their clever taunts from each match.

Most long-following tourists like me know (or should know) the classics, but when I've been to matches at sat near the aways there's always some top banter between folks in the lower 100s and opposing contingent.

Our singing match-going blues always seem to have something clever up their sleeve, but it's hard to hear via the television broadcast and if it's offensive (read: funny) in any way, the announcers won't mention it.

For example, I recall the "Shit Michael Jackson" chant at Nani during 1-6 which was so loud I could actually understand it via the broadcast, but most of the time I can't . . . especially when I'm in my pub for a match as I was today.

So . . . anything from today that was particularly good? Besides us serenading Balo?
Three top class goals and great rendition of Stevie G's song :)

A little off topic of Liverpool but on this thought does anyone remember the north stand singing "there's only one Whoopi Goldberg" at Fulham's Rufus Brevett about 2000/2001? Quite raucous at the time!!

Thoroughly enjoyed last night. Satisfying win, and endless winding up of the scousers. Dodgy first half where they had the better of it but compensated for with an excellent second half. Jovetic very deservedly man of the match. So much to admire about his attitude and his skill set, he's got everything, I'd love to see him get a good injury-free run in the team. Fernando excellent again, his reading of the game is truly superb. Kompany typically brilliant as well. No-one had a bad game either. Need to watch the highlights now though. Being low down in 110 and spending too much time winding up the away fans, typically means I miss a lot of what's going on. My mate who sits towards the back of the second tier comes back to the car and every game there's two or three things that I'm either unaware of happening or couldn't see properly.

A great evening! Working in Leipzig this week and took the opportunity to catch up with old mates and watch the game in my old local. I was always the only City fan in Leipzig, which didn't bother me. But it seems most of the Germans there have become Liverpool fans overnight. I was the only Blue in a pub full of them last night and I loved it! Plastics started leaving before the end, and were gone pretty sharpish at final whistle.

Thought the first half was pretty average and we looked slow until we got the goal. Liverpool had a few chances but we defended well and despite their possession they didn't get much out of it. After that though I thought we mostly dominated the game. I think some are still struggling a little for fitness, Yaya for example still for me doesn't quite look right yet. I thought Clichy had a good game despite the first 20 minutes and their goal where he stuffed up a bit but he dealt with Sterling well who looks a great player. He also contributed a lot towards our attacks, it always looked like it would come from the left.

Jovetic was fantastic and seemed to be everywhere. Fernando looks a solid buy and again a fantastic defensive performance too from all just a shame about their goal which was a result of turning off. I can't believe the man Demichelis is now compared with the first half of last year, I would have him over anyone else in the world the way he and Kompany are playing at the moment. Other than that, I would liked to of seen Sagna at some point yesterday, I am really interested in how Pellegrini will play him but I think he just doesn't want to throw in someone new into a new system against a decent team, same for Mangala.

The future looks good so far and last year I would of said Newcastle away and Liverpool at home would of been difficult fixtures but we have breezed through them really. Hopefully Edin won't have a bad injury or we could look a bit thin on the striker front but it's not like we have a heavy amount of games anytime soon. I think Aguero needs another week of rest and then he really needs to start playing again every week. We can't keep wrapping him up in cotton wool hoping he doesn't get injured. We seemed to manage fine without him but we miss that bit of magic in the final third without him, Jovetic is certainly stepping up though - my MOTM last night.

Great team performance, we're obviously still short of full fitness probably due to easing players back in after the WC.

I think we only played at 'full throttle' for 35-40 mins. I'll take til the Chelsea game for us to be fully firing but 2 awkward games 6 points just shows Pelli got the pre-season right.

The best bit is I can't say anyone of our lot had a bad game.

Bring on Sjoke.

As expected another massive game from Fernando... becoming as important to MCFC as he was at FCPorto, cant wait to see until Mangala starts playing

Also, sorry for the off topic but is there a section to introduce new members of the forum? Thanks in advance

No that I know of but welcome to you.

Can you give your view of Mangala and what we can expect from him?
