I can see the reasoning behind the omission of Kompany from the starting lineups given the amount of games we're going to play and that, taking nowt away from Watford who deserved their goals, we have got a couple of tough league fixtures ahead. Last thing we want is burn out.
From my point of view, Kompany on the bench was fine, it was the omission of a midfielder to do the defensive duties that cost us in the first half. There was a massive gap midfield to defense which even Kompany would've struggled with. Pushing MD into the defensive midfield position solved many ills with the initial set up.
