the manager? seriously?
i bet you pele would have played with more heart than most of the money grabbing bastards playing today

he put the wrong team out to start and it was all, all wrong, everyone saw it, gary fucking neville started saying it after 10 minutes we needed another in midfield, and it was so obvious, and we never did until the game was long, long over. that's on the manager

I was happy with the lineup, but it didnt take long to work out that it wasnt working.

15 minutes I said we needed a sub.

Looked at my watch, it was 4:52 when I decided it was wrong. I always jump the gun though. Standard procedure throughout the world is to give it 45 mins min. regardless (REGARDLESS) so you, the manager, can save face - it's the real "face time" and it has and always will be utter posturing bullshit.

Better to admit from the off you've fucked up and fix it sharpish. On the other hand, one can wait for the opposition to fall in line and walk slowly in tight ranks across no-mans line at night smoking endless cigarettes and yelling "here Tommy, over here!".

*steps away form the Ouzo*

How ever bad we may be but this bayern team is simply wow,we've never bin so badly outplayed and this is after we've spent abt 100 m in transfer market, psg has spent abt same kinda money like city but they seem to grow from strength to strenth in Europe and we still lack so far behind

What a football lesson that was. Bayern's movement was simply brilliant pulling defenders and midfielders out of position, creating space and attacking it with relish. Fantastically strong, we were out muscled, out played and out thought. Extremely impressed with Bayern tonight who were fitter, faster, stronger and better technically.

As for us? Yaya couldn't get on the ball and when he did he was closed down and out muscled - something I find very odd writing given the size of the bugger. Dzeko was bullied all through the game and trudged off like the kid who's had his dinner money taken off him. Joe had a night to forget. Fernandinho's only mistake lead to their third. Clichy caught napping. Samir gave up at 3-0.

Positives - David returned and he was very good. Negredo's goal was excellent (although he should have scored with his header). Sergio ran his bollocks off for no service and few, if any, chances; I was glad he came off when he did (assuming it was to save him for Saturday).

One thing I will say - and I want to stress that I am behind Pellegrini all the way - but the team selection tonight was naive in the extreme. He was brought in to improve us in Europe, and in fairness we've just played a strong side that are champions of Europe, but I was amazed he set us up how he did. I fully expected he would have been a bit more conservative.

Disappointed we put in that display but full credit to Bayern who were superb. Only Dortmund have played better at the Etihad and we scrorped a draw against them! Credit to our fans showing some appreciation for Schweinsteiger and Robben too. Seemed as though there was a bit of a love-in at the end as well between both sets of fans with mutual applause.

Defeat is always hard to take, so as a City fan, I'm naturally gutted. As a football fan it was a pleasure to watch Bayern.

Are you fucking stupid ??? Fancy coming on here after that battering ... and finally someone who is talking sense !!
Too many people are always critical of blaming x,y and z,for defeats, but tonight I can honestly say that we were spanked, given a football lesson, call it what you will, but shit, what a performance that was from the Champions.
I`ve said it before, but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and congratulate Bayern for that performance. Not only were they better, they were SUPERIOR in every department, irrespective of individual errors.
Well done to two of Europes finest wingers also.Fuck, I wish we had one or both of them in our team.
Twat!! Thought you was having a pop at me then :))

Haha, no mate, thats exactly as I saw the game and certainly I was very, very impressed with Robben and Riberry.Having said that, their whole team was superb and a joy to watch live.

Starting with 2 up front at home - ok we're the home side and we should attack and give their defence something to think about .
Then it becomes very evident very quickly that we simply can't get the ball to them because , well , we simply can't get the ball.
We simply can't get the ball because our midfield is outnumbered and overrun by a very well drilled very efficient very fit side which hunted in packs with and without the ball.
This is the point where the manager takes a brave decision - things need to be changed because I have got the wrong setup .
However , he sits on his hands .
Daxman was absolutely correct a few pages back . It's not about "desire" or " hunger" or big fat pay packets - it's ( or was tonight ) simply about tactics and the way you set up your team and the way you react to what is happening before your very eyes.
That is the most disappointing thing about tonight . I really didn't expect to beat Bayern - as we all saw they are an extremely good side , technically , tactically and physically. I think we would still have lost had we made the obvious changes at half - time but it would have been fairer and better for the players on the pitch to have given them a better chance to compete , and would also - and more importantly , have demonstrated the manager's ability to read the situation and make the right choices and decisions with the implied concession that he got it wrong in the first place .
Sadly , he didn't do anything until too late.

Bayern are the European champions for a reason and they have done that to better teams than us before now.Having said that the tactics and team formation was all wrong from the off.We are being overrun in midfield too often.Richards can't come back from a long injury to face such pace and power, that alone was insane.Hart.....his confidence and form has gone,Clichy pulled all over the place too often and as a result our central defence was being hammered time after time.

It is early days under the new manager for sure but i am having severe doubts that he has what it takes at this level and i include the premier league in that too.

After watching Milan play like sacks of feces, because of injury, but most importantly our disgustingly pathetic, spineless woman of a coach... I was really looking forward to seeing this match and was hoping/thinking it was going to end well for City.

A terrible Tues/Wed for me footballing wise.

Though gotta say, if that were us out there... wouldve been 6/7-0 for sure. Our coach has lost all support from the fans and his team, yet somehow still employed.

Only 50 pages three hours after the game - is everyone in the pub drowning their sorrow?

Reading the match reports and watching Micah's interview I am now very nervous about the next game - our bogey team (and their new manager).

Back from the game, lets just say it was probably as bad as it looked on TV highlights, but at the same time, absolute pleasure to watch Bayern Munich, too good, we got bollocked, in an amusing note I hung around with a few of their supporters after the game and one guy (name was Dieter I think) said ;If we do this to you, imagine we we could do to Man United right now'.

If we had played Panti and he had let in a soft goal, which is possible. All hell would have broken loose. The English Media wouldn't let Pellegrini hear the rest of it. That said. It should have been Milner wide left (coz Silva was never gonna go all 90) and Nasri in the middle and Navas on the right.
