City vs Villa Post Match Discussion Thread

I am at a loss for words sometimes, how can this team which showed so much heart and desire to win every game last season appear to be like a pub team who just met the night before? It's a fucking shambles. I'm only glad we weren't playing Chavski last night, it would have been double figures.
WTF is going on in defence? Kolo's days are surely numbered? Pantyliner is awful, Nast(get your fucking shit sorted) , Lescott( oh dear, outbound I think). Where is the meanest concedeing defence from last season? If we carry on like this we will be lucky to finish in the top 10. I don't care if it's a 'comedy cup' we should at least try to beat these teams who come to our ground. I dread to think the fallout in the press if we lose in CL next week.
IMO I can't see a way out of this at the moment, ok, it's early in the season, but we should be gathering pace to win games not stumbling to a draw.
I will probably get slated for this but i think if RM doesn't start to produce winning ways in CL and Prem, he will be under some serious pressure and in the firing line.
I hope we get it together soon, I can't take much more of the laughing from rag mates.

You've not followed us for long have you my mate? If you cant take the laughing now you should be glad you havent been around for the last 30 odd years

I said this last night the atmosphere was utterly rubbish. This Villa fans out sang us all night. I think we manage one feeble “blue moon” and one “Come on City”. Pathetic, a bit of support from your home crowd goes a long was IMO.
Some really worrying performances and anyone who says it’s only a Mickey mouse cup is kidding themselves. Is our trophy room so full we can turn cups down now? We should be trying to win all we can. Would people not have cared about winning the league cup 10 years ago? We won the Premier League last year and us a too good for this competition? Where has this superiority complex come from?
Fingers crossed this shocks the boys into action, we get our act together at what will be a tough game at Fulham and come out on form for Champions League on Wednesday!

I work in an office full of Red’s. Getting so much shit this morning. I walked in to a room of people laughing at me so frustrating. Wish I’d gloated at the end of last season instead I had some pride unlike these whoppers!

I'm not in the slightest worried. The man has won us the F.A cup, Charity shield and the league ffs, and there are fans on here questioning his tactics before a big CL game, considering he admitted that the players needed more training because of lack of pre-season, you're all flapping like chickens being chased by a bloke in a gimp mask.

Get a grip.

well said .moaners and flappers we dont need

I have been a blue 40+ years!! And most of my working life been out of the country with the forces,so have had to follow via the media.
I have been thru the dark days and now I would like to see us playing the way we were towards the end of last season!! I'm allowed my opinion, if you don't like it.... Tough!

Not too bothered about the Capital one Cup im I'm honest, but that result is a shocker.

Really disappointed with Panti. I thought we had a good back-up to Hart, but he was poor. Two of the goals were his fault.

Without Kompany next to him, I don't rate Lescott at all. I thought Lescott was brilliant last season, but was Kompany carrying him? In 2012, every game he's played without Kompany next to him he's been rubbish. Worrying.

A lot of the midfield looked scared last night, that's never a good sign. I thought Suarez (who I rate highly), Razak and Sinclair all looked scared to do anything. It was as if they didn't want to get on the ball and express themself.

The forwards were starved of any real service, to be honest. But losing at home to Villa with Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko all playing is surprising. That's hardly the reserves! I'm sorry but resting Tevez against a title challenger on Sunday only to play him for 120 minutes in the League Cup two days later is a weird decision by Mancini. I can't understand that decision one bit.

I'm a bit worried about our season so far. We look weaker than last year. We've not had great results, but the performances haven't been there either. I thought against Madrid, Arsenal and Villa our performances have been poor and we've looked nowhere near as good as last season - in defence and attack.

Mancini needs to sort this - and quick.

We seem very uncreative, I don't really understand it. Every attempted through ball is read by a defender so quite simply we appear to have been found out and have become predictable. When Sinclair came on he was given the ball and went on a storming run down the flank that felt so refreshing because we simply went for the direct approach and it nearly paid off.

But, but, "Mancini doesn't play with width."

Seems Bob hasn't figured out you can play with width AND be a passing team. A certain Catalan team serves as an example. If 3-5-2 is Bob's version of width, God save us.

Haha I like the way you wrote tough with a capital T, makes it seem ever so forceful. If you read my post carefully you'll realise that not once did I mention the way we have been playing (which was piss poor last night but has been ok for the first 5 league games) I just picked up on the fact we may have to put you on suicide watch because your rag mates were laughing at you and your team, bearing in mind your team is unbeaten in the league having had little to no pre season and having played 2 difficult away games id say the 'I cant take much more' comment is slightly out of context, especially seen as you've managed to deal with the laughter for the past 40 years.

I was almost suicidal! I thought we had put the shit times behind us, I'm really hoping when we eventually click, we kick some serious ass in Prem and CL!

Oh and I forgot to mention....

At half time of extra time we were 3-2 down and instead of the team having some kind of get together to say "come on lads we've got 15 minutes " etc etc, Captain Kolo just wandered off drinking out of a bottle, Milner walked away and played with a ball on his own. The others stood around in little groups with no leadership from with the players or management !! What is Platt and Kidds role ? Even they didn't want to be there.

A disgrace from a professional football club.

For next seasons League Cup can the club please state upfront that they are not arsed about the competition and save us all the time, money and effort of fucking going !
I listened to the radio Manchester coverage and they particularly commented on this. They noted Paul Lambert gathering his team together to ensure they remained focused. On the other hand the city lads wandered around in little groups aimlessly. In my view this sent an appalling message to the fans who were standing in the heavy rain having parted with their hard earned money. The coaches and/or manager should have given them an almighty rev up at that time. Not stand around as if they too didn't care.

Please let that never happen again.
