Done!! You beauty!! Just booked a Qantas flight from Perth at $900 each ( about 600 quid). Now looking at hotels in Wan Chai area , only a couple of kms from Stadium i think. Anybody any suggestions on hotels in Wan Chai , have previously stayed at Grand Hyatt on business where Spuds , Looneypool and Fulham (i think by memory) where also staying whilst taking part in this tournament a few years back. My guess is that the team will stay here.

We stayed here last year, it was excellent, near to Happy Valley racecourse, next stop along the MTR from Wan Chai

Booked.

Had to bite the bullet and pay £720 for flights. Got free digs out there so that offsets the flight.

Got a day in Abu Dhabi on the way, might see if Sheiky fancies it!!

Thats not bad, because average Hotels are £60 a night.. Good ones £100

Welcome to HongKong!
Am a HK Chinese and also a City supporter since 2002 when Sun Ji Hai played in MCFC. I am very happy to know that MCFC will visit HK this summer, cannot wait to see their matches with my wife and my son, hope we will see Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko, Yaya, Kampany......all of them !
Actually there was only a few City fans here before 2012, most epl fans support Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool, but it started to change after City won the title.

HK is a food / shopping paradise,if you visit HK, the Chinese food is the MUST you should try, there are Cantonese food , Shanghai food, Sichuan food, also seafood is my all time favourite. if u want to buy cell phone, camera, DON'T go to the small shop in Tsim Sha Tsui, as some will cheat tourist, go to the big chain shop: Fortress or Broadway. The bars in Wanchai only have some Philipine women, go to Lan Kwai Fong in the evening.

Also I will recommend u to spend 1-2 days in Macau, only 1 hr by turbo jet,
the atmosphere, architectural design, interior design are verrrrry nice in the casino / hotel. Casino u should go to visit are : The Venetian, The Galaxy ,The City of Dreams and Wynn.

Completely allowed my heart to over-rule my head, and purchased the flights this lunchtime.

Out on the 22nd, back on the 29th (6 nights), with Turkish Airlines from Manchester. Pretty swift connections in Istanbul. £513 plus an extra tenner for paying by credit card.

Still seems to be some decent availability on those dates at that price if other Blues are considering it.

What web-site did you see that on? Just been quoted £646 for those dates on skyscanner with China Southern, £798 now with Turkish

Anyone been to HK before? Just looking at hotels now. Seem to be quite a few decent ones in the Causeway Bay area, no idea if thats a good spot or not. If anyone could shed any light it would be much appreciated.

Can't wait to hammer the gambling in Macau, might look at staying there a night as well.

Heads up for any Blues considering going this summer, some seats have become available on Turkish Airlines for £555 return from Manchester. Out 22/7 back 29/7. One stop in Istanbul.

These exact flights were over £800 last week.

Edit - £479 from London.
