Glad to see its not just me putting that Bruce gig in their top 3. Before I went I was mildly interested in him, but went along with the hype.
But after he came on stage at 4.20pm and finished at 8.20 I knew I'd seen something I'd never forget. He's not always my favourite artist on record, but live he is special, and I think he was at the peak of his powers then (although I do have a tasty bootleg of a us radio broadcast from San Francisco in 79 which is amazing too).

Indeed. I'm sure I read it had 90 000 plus there for Springsteen whereas I'm sure the old Wembley was 'only' 72K for gigs.
Roundhay had much more atmosphere. (At U2 were there fans climbing the trees as well?)

Yeah I think they did, them to the left of the stage? We managed to smuggle some booze in but we'd drunk 2 big bottles of 20/20 at the entrance because booze was banned inside! It must have been some atmosphere at your "Boss" gig.chesterbells said:Mad Eyed Screamer said:Springsteen Roundhey Park Leeds 85

chesterbells said:Yes, we came in from that side (officially). I remember that side "the Hill" as Bruce called it being fenced off). Not sure why, cos tickets were same price everywhere.
Weather was gorgeous wasn't it, summer Sunday evening. There is a 2 minute clip on YouTube about the show; I think it was shown on the local news programme the following day (be warned though if u search it out - some of the fashions on show are shocking!)
