Best 5 gigs I've been to,
1) Oasis, Empress Ballroom 2/10/95 the day Morning Glory came out. I was 15 and it was the first gig I ever went to.
2) Oasis, Maine Rd 27/3/96 on the Saturday supported by by Ocean Colour Scene and The Manics, was in the front pen and they had City v Villa on the tv's at the bars. Lomas got the winner, 1-0.
3) The Strokes, Cardiff Arena 2/12/03, went on my own after splitting up with a girl I was seeing, 1 of the best gigs I've ever been to and bagged myself a Welsh beauty.
4) Interpol 8/7/08, Manchester Apollo, only time I've seen this band, best gig I've seen at The Apollo.
5) The Cribs with Johnny Marr, The Ritz 6/2/09, quality live band and The Ritz is a class venue for live music imo.

Just saw The Wedding Present perform Seamonsters in San Diego and Los Angeles this past Friday and Saturday, twas ace, both times.

Small point but Oasis at Maine Road was in '96. I know because I went to both the City game at Villa Park and the Oasis concert on the Saturday. We got relegated the week after in the infamous game against Liverpool.

The Two Tone tour,Apollo 1979,as a previous poster said all for the princely sum of three pound fifty.(going to see The Specials in Sydney on Saturday,not for three quid odd though).
Stone Roses at Blackpool,details are very sketchy but for atmosphere unreal.
Primal Scream,played at Hordern Pavillion in Sydney,support' band' were the Chemical Brothers,every ambulance in Sydney was there to ferry the casualty's out,Gillespie was taking the piss big time,"don't take the brown acid".
Oasis at Hammersmith Palais,the cockneys didn't get them, first album tour. One bloke said it's like a fucking Beatles tribute band,to me.
Prince at Wembley,went with an ex girlfriend,I wasn't that into him till I saw him live.

Yes it was 96 the Oasis / Villa game - if I recall, the penalty box at the Platt Lane end had sunk an inch or two due to the weight of the stage. Fucking unbelievable that they would play two gigs a week before the final game of the season!!

Best Gig;without doubt Ian Dury & the Blockheads,and three hundred people dancing on the stage with him at the final curtain, RIP, Poole Arts Centre.
Ian Hunter/Ronson Band,Nostalgic brilliance. Hammersmith Odeon.
Clash...Energy. Poole Arts Centre.
Ramones..Mental..Village Bowl Bournemouth.
List is endless..sad to say one of the best days out was Knebworth with Robbie Williams,never wanted to go but was persuaded..Awesome,Moby,Ash and the Darkness on the card,great show!
