Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

Seconds Out is excellent even with Phil on vocals.
I would love to see Hackett. Every time he comes to Dublin, it’s in a smallish venue and the tickets go like lightning.
You really have to be quick and I never have been.

Looking forward to seeing Hackett. Only started listening to his solo stuff in last couple of years.

Only seen him live briefly when he made a cameo appearance at a Jack Bruce tribute gig and his playing was instantly impressive.

Diamond Head, The thing is though they weren't when they released the ep, the first album let them down, pruduction and song choices, then they seemed to change direction, then Sean Harris left. To think the had major label backing early they shoul have been one of the NWBHM bands that with Saxon, Maiden, Leppard made it, or at least got to Tygers of Pan Tang, Magnum levels. Where they just crashed, though left a lasting influence on the thrash bands

Sean Harris was still singing for them when I last saw them live twice around 2004?

Nice list. Nearly all covered. Obviously not a Genesis fan.
Seconds Out.

Santana - Moonflower.
Neil Young - Live Rust
Steve Hillage - Live Herald

Played them all to death many moons ago, along with much of your list.

Not Classic Rock, but later I was obsessed with Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense - The video.
Also not classic rock per se — but I think my favo(u)rite live record is The Kinks — One For The Road. Many of their best “rock” songs.

Have seen him three times in as many years prior to COVID and am due to see him again in Glasgow this year. He has a brilliant band behind him albeit he lost his drummer Gary Otoole a year or so ago. That was a loss as he was excellent and the guy that has taken over is a bit too bish bash for me. Don’t be put off by his lead singer, he is a bit strange but very effective in reflecting early genesis vibe without trying to be Peter Gabriel.

He normally does half his own stuff and half Genesis. His guitar playing is still up there with the very very best.

This tour, which was postponed from last year was billed as the Seconds Out tour so it will be interesting to see the mix of music played but I do have six Hackett albums now and although I don't know them well, I've liked most of the stuff on them.

Best Rock band I've ever seen....,.Deep Purple
Best prog Rock band I've ever seen ......Yes
That might just be a universal undeniable truth. But perhaps Purple should fit into a Heavy Rock category to make room for a few more contenders. Zappa comes to mind.
