Club Brugge (A) - CL - Post-Match Thread

Its an old ploy. See Riise for Liverpool. Not easy to do, tho'.
Recently, it had been Sane and Sterling receiving the pass from David. Last season, Gundogan was at the receiving end and scoring goals. One more variation to be used against the parked buses and something other than the inverted winger play is always good.

Great performance from front to back. You get to understand why teams park the bus against us. Bruges didn't and realistically that game could have been 10 - 2.
Kev, Mahrez and Grealish were below their very best. Imagine if they had been on top form.
Foden is unreal. He is fast becoming our most influential player. Thought Walker and Cancelo were magnificent. Great game to watch.

Thinking back, I wonder if it was a favourite ploy of the "Boot Room". Chris Lawler was an early exponent.

Raheem Sterling will be one of our most important players this season. Mark my words. His movement is exceptional. He drags defenders all over the show and creates so many chances. Form is temporary.

To be honest, I disagree.

I think they did try and park the bus, but we just tore them apart.

Watch it slowed down. He was trying to pass to Mahrez.
Think Sterling will get a goal against Brighton.

I have just watched it again and he gets his head up looks across to Cole Palmer takes another stride and crosses it. I think he meant it.

People will see what they want to see I guess. But a lot of players wouldn't have got there in the first place. Give the lad some credit.

People aren’t harsh on him, they’re harsh on his performances and rightly so. Trying his best and not hiding away is a given but he needs to do a lot more.

Every player who for one reason or another hasn’t been playing well enough for a long time doesn’t turn things around. For every Stones there’s a Jovetic, a Bony, a Garcia, a Mangala, a Mendy
I've definitely seen some people slagging him off as well as his performances

Those players you mentioned never did anywhere near as much for us as sterling has though

Form is only temporary if you want it to be, he’s showing all the signs of downing tools to push for a move!
