So, here's my dilemma. My nephew (16) lives in Dubai. In his younger more foolish years he claimed to be a Liverpool fan due to Mo Salah (Dubai has kids from all different countries that go to his school & Salah was a big hero to the kids from that area). Anyway, in the last coupe of years I've managed to convert in to a City fan, he's binned all his Liverpool stuff, got a City shirt for his last birthday, all good.

Before the boycott was announced I said to his Mum that as when he was back over in the UK for the summer was when the this game was on, id take him down so he could go to his first City (& Wembley) game, cool Uncle points.

I never normally do the Wembley CS, last one I did was United in 2011 although I have done the Villa Park & King Power ones so missing this game is no issue to me and I fully support the boycott, however I feel bad saying id take him and then now turning round and saying I'm not going to.

So do i take him, knowing its going to be no where near a normal experience but still to my word (plus its good chance to spend to the full day with him as don't get to see him very often) or do we not bother support the boycott fully and say sorry kid, maybe next time?

Don't be a sheep. Do what's best for you. Make memories for your nephew, a day out at Wembley, a chance to see some great players live.

I actually think city will think this will be a big opportunity to sell tickets to punters that carnt usually get tickets ,win win for city no need to bother with the legacy fans ,see Istanbul ,and a chance to exploit the newly attracted glory hunters.

People been moaning they can't get tickets for Wembley now here's the perfect opportunity, only to be mocked by other city fans who can't be arsed to go .
Let's be honest here , you can get back from London. You can get a reasonably cheap ticket.
Boycott is a massive excuse for some people here who simply can't be arsed. Maybe not all, but definitely some.

It's not an excuse. We have boycotted away games at Bolton, Wigan and Birmingham before due to excessive ticket prices and they are hardly a pain to get to. How many Arsenal fans would come up here if the roles were reversed? The FA and PL together with the broadcasters have been taking the piss for too long, this is an ideal game to take a stance but I understand not everyone will feel the same. It's not about not being arsed. Look at some of the games now on TV. Southampton away at Sheffield on a Friday night at 8.00, Ipswich away at Sunderland on a Sunday at 5.00, dippers away at Newcastle at 4.30 on a Sunday, Newcastle away at Brighton at 5.30 on a Saturday, Arse away at Neverton, 5.30 on a Saturday, Brentford away at Newcastle on a Sunday 4.30 and so on. As the late Jock Stein said “Football is for the fans. It can be the greatest game in the world but if there are no people to watch it, it becomes nothing. The fans are the lifeblood of the game.” Fans, not customers, not a number, not someone in an armchair thousand of miles away who happens to be flicking through channels. Empty grounds isn't something the PL wants but the way they are going I can see the bubble bursting in the next decade and fans voting with their feet as they are constantly being messed about.

Or maybe not glory hunters but fans , some long standing, that only get to go to games twice or a handfull of times a season now,and can't usually get wembly or final tickets.

Yeah, they were on sale. Got an error message first but then got in. I'm not going - doing the BOTW screening instead - but just had a nosey at how many were available. Around 20,000 showing but half the top tier blocks aren't on sale so you can probably add another 7000-8000 on top of that
