They were up for it we weren't. To say that was our final pre-season friendly worries me, we looked like that was our first game after a couple of months of lying on a beach. Mancinis tactics throughout the game continue to amaze me. How many times did shrek pull away at corners to be unmarked at the edge of the box (4 times at least). No Aguurro? Whats was all that about! Ah well no points were at stake. Hopefully we'll come out all guns blazing a week tomorrow.

FFS weve lost a game thats on a par with a testomonial, and some of you are ready for the noose,trust me people this is a big season for us,i know it was against the scum but ffs the charity shield, has just become a massive trophy again ......................just laugh at the rags, and say yep you won the AHEM C/S where as the game we beat you at in the semi meant a lot more ,as it put pay to 99% of the silly songs .Oh and how much sweeter to beat thgem to go on and win our 1st major trophy for a while.

I tell you blues when we did them it HURT them ,but this today fades in to comparison.

Stoke, the semi and Villa he was outstanding. If you ever want proof that when his head is on that he can score goals and work hard, there you go. The problem is mental. At 20/21, the time has come for him to prove he is consistent. He is very experienced for someone his age.
And you have just compared him to our best players!! No-one on here has said he is one of our best players, so listing them is stupid. I'm guessing you would rather have Bellamy than Balo, too?

Yeah - but the other players have shown something plenty of times. While Balo on the other hand....

He had his usual game - pranced around.... acted like a big girl when a rag tackled him..... trotted around the pitch not doing very much.... Then slopped off down the tunnel.

We've lost & the Mancini outers are out I hear you say.
I'm not an outer but I cannot for the life of me see him winning the league for us.

Yes it was just a friendly but the same problems of last season re occured in the games last week and today, they are:

1/ Pedestrian, lazy pace of play
2/ Needless giving away of possession
3/ Midfield area far far to slow
4/ Corner kicks rarely getting past the first post
5/ First touches of Dzeko & Mario appalling and Mario completely disinterested
6/ Mancini leaves it too late to change things

6 correct and accurate points that persisted and were not rectified enough last season. Today was exactly the same. For me we won't win the league and we will be scrapping for 4th again. Not good enough.

Everything is easier to judge in hindsight. Fact is, we shouldn't have let in goals 1 and 2 to begin with.

dont agree at all with the inept comment but the rest is spot on as is the post above it. The rags go for EVERY trophy no matter what it is. That "hurtful" banner today hit home. It had United with trophies beside it and City below it with pound signs either side. We need to start changing that with every opportunity given to us, today was a lost one even if it was for a dinner plate.
