Corners

Doesn't "direct from a corner" mean nobody else touches the ball except the scorer?. A-la Vinnie against the scum back in 2012?
Yes, yes and thrice yes. In my opinion anyway. Like Edin's second at the theatre of Meccano last season.

All that really matters is GOAL, direct or not, from a corner thing. Its an improvement, usually we are defending within 20 seconds......far better for the opposition to be kicking off.

I have this 'angst' missing Micah Richards and Lescott when I think about corners and the powerful headers gone missing from our current squad.

Pls. jogged my memory.

would have said today's was from a corner, not direct albeit, but it doesnt have to be as far as im aware, say if it takes a few touches on the ground before someone puts it in

After seeing it on MOTD I have changed me mind, it doesn'tl eave the box and so I would say it's a goal from a corner

Our attacking corners are still way off but what are peoples thoughts on defending them? I think the whole 11 players in the box idea is crap and it contributed to the Palace goal. There should be 2 players between our box and the halfway line to draw out opposing players and give us a chance to challenge/attack if the ball gets cleared.

A few decent ones but most woeful again and seem to be getting worse. 3 of our corners cleared the penalty area on thier own. Its shocking how a team can be so bad at them when you see Sunday league players being able to take better corners

Defending and attacking set pieces (specially corners) has become a huge issue. We have started conceding a lot of goals from set pieces as well.

Is an embarrassment .... what are we actually doing in training?????? How many corners now without a goal?? The delivery most of the time is pathetic, either doesn't clear the near post area or a pathetic floated ball with no pace or whip on it ....

Set pieces both attacking and defending are the product of hours on the training pitch, drilled by the manager and coaches. It is evident that either they aren't spending the hours or haven't a clue, whatever the reason it's down to the manager. We've gone for having being up with the best to being with the worst

Spot on. Why would we not have Navas/Silva and Aguerro up field when we are defending a corner? Bananas.
