I think the last 12 months have proven allowing people to decide for themselves has had dire consequences.

And you’re talking to someone who had that very opinion and was anti lockdown last summer.
I would like to know what decisions people have been able to make for themselves.

I went out for a walk in the City centre this evening. Walked down Cross St and King St. That's prime retail space. That area was struggling before the lockdown but it's devastated now. Commercial lenders must be getting hammered. 1/3rd of shops are up for let in these areas. Of course this is probably the worst moment now as who would buy commercial premises now when you can't open them. If it was your life's ambition to open a restaurant or cafe then now might be the time to strike a bargain. Risky though.
what concerns me marvin is the knock on effect this will have on domestic council tax, 'the money has to come from somewhere' were in wyre and thats going up another 3% on top of last years hike which was for social care

It will be Wyre BC who mainly lose out and they can't put up their part more than 2% without a referendum.

I've got my jab this Friday next to Hyde Football ground. 61, quite active, still work, bit of cycling and golf when we get back to some kind of normal. However, underlying conditions get me the vaccine.

My best mate of 50 years has Prostate cancer, being contained thankfully but he's on medication and had Radiotherapy, no invitation yet, does anyone know if he should be in group 6 like I am. I've tried google but can't find a definitive answer, would really appreciate some advice, my mate had been through tough times and I feel guilty I'm getting the jab and he's not, cheers in advance.
